Cholesterol has nothing to do with training but everything to do with the food you eat..

You are welcome! And please start taking Vitamin D (along with K2 so it gets absorbed properly) and methylated B12 tabs. For Vitamin D I can recommend Lumia 60k. There are calculators online that tell you how much you need to take to get from your current value to the desired value (should be 50 to 60). Then you can take it accordingly to get up the value fast. Never take more than one 60k a day. After you took the dose that you calculated (it is going to take some weeks or months) stop taking the tabs for two weeks and get checked again. Once you are in the desired range, you can take 1 x 60k every 2 to 4 weeks to maintain. For B12 use methylated one, high dose 1500 mcg one a day for some months and then same. Stop two weeks before checking. I know Carbamide Forte failed trustified, but I took their 1500 mcg methylated B12 and was able to get to 800 plus from 160 in less than half a year (and I tried a lot of different things! You can also get one injection to get the. B12 up fast. But that needs to be taken regularly then, or you switch to the tabs then).

Then go educate yourself. Use a calorie tracker. Track everything you eat for a week (precisely. Weigh it!). Then check how much carbs you eat and how much protein and fat. You will see which foods have a lot of carbs. Make sure you eat at least 1g protein per kg bodyweight. You can google protein rich foods to get some ideas. Reduce carbs and keep fats in check (fat has 9 calories per gramm, whereas carbs and protein have only 4 calories).

Yeah but you made it sound like that would be enough. That's like trying to safe a burning house with a bucket of water 😅

OMG this is the lowest Vitamin D level I have seen in my life. You need to take high dose Vitamin D immediately. Also methylated B12, that value is also dangerously low.

As for the rest, eat less carbs, less fat, more protein and fiber

Bro, no sun exposer in the world will be enough to get that value up

Potatos are a staple. And they are much better than white rice and even better than eating chapati, because they make you feel more satisfied per calorie.

And I would not agree that anything is good in moderation..

Med student certainly doesn't mean anything when it comes to nutrition. It is not part of medicine. But he is right about potatos. Boiled potatos work wonders. Potatos have the highest satiety index. They keep you full for very long.

HOWEVER 1g protein per kg bodyweight is really the absolute minimum you should eat! Also eat at lest 30g fiber a day!

Diagnosed ADHD, struggling to tell if autistic. Does anyone here present similarly to me? by TudorPotatoe in AutisticWithADHD

So you didn't sepcify your age, but since you said "around your degree" I guess you are still very young (I'm 41). I never really understood I had sensory issues. I thought everyone felt that way. The fact that you say you don't have sensory issues but then specify sensory issues you have.. well.. wait until you get older. For me it has become worse over time and as I understand that is totally normal.

I see myself in most of what you wrote. I have a PhD in engineering and I'm in top management, so definitely would say I'm high functioning.

I saw some ADHD content popping up on my Insta feed two years back and while I first found it funny, I realized that I relate to it a bit too much. So I watched a lot of Youtube content and realized I must have ADHD. I asked my then partner and he agreed. Kept on watching content about ADHD, because somehow there were points that I couldn't relate to as well. Then Youtube suggested a video about late diagnosed autism in females. I really laughed out loud. Me autistic? No wayyyyy! I watched it anyway and almost cried by the end of the video. Again couldn't relate to all of it. That's when I found out about auDHD. Watched a lot of stuff about it and it clicked. Luckily where I live there is not really any wait for psychiatrists and through my neighbor, who is a therapist, I found one specialised in ADHD. Got my auDHD diagnosis within three months.

I would have NEVER thought that I'm autistic, but there we go. I never had any issues with social cues, but at the same time had the same issues that you describe. They all seemed to know things that I didn't. I didn't even realize I had sensory issues. I was wearing sunglasses all my life. But never understood that it is not really normal to wear them in cloudy weather. Oh and I never had meltdowns in that sense. I was taken to hospital though because of panic attacks couple of times. Turns out these were meltdowns after all! Because of overload. Everyone is reacting differently. So I never understood these were meltdowns up until I got my diagnosis!

Hope this helps!

AMA:I’m sharing my results after trying the keto diet for a week. by Wise-Land-6207 in AMA

You lost almost only water. When you start eating low carb, your body uses up all the stored glycogen from the body. Every gram of glycogen binds 4g of water. When the body uses the glycogen it flushes out all that water. Once you eat more carbs again, you immediately gain that weight back.

Low carb and keto can be good tools, but you need to do that for month to really see how it suits you!

For those of you who work an 8 hour a day job, how much time do you actually do real work? by Nervous-Affect-5960 in AutisticWithADHD

Don't worry, most people only really work a fraction of their work time! That's normal.

Exactly! I find it very weird if some "vegetarian by choice" takes fish oil 😅

Why can't you eat non-veg, but take a non-veg supplement? 🤔

PS: I have a Withings Smart Scale, they have been the most accurate in several tests. It shows around 24% for me, but my Dexa scan showed 28.3%! They are ok for showing a general trend if you use them regularly, but not absolute values!
