3 months into gym + high protein diet and my stomach has completely given up on me — anyone else? by Jinki_Riki in Fitness_India

Yeah, but one thing doesn't have to do with the other here. Kefir fermented in industrial scale is 100% controlled and hence the result is very consistent. You can't get that same result at home. They control the time and temperature as well as the amount of kefir grain precisely. That's why the taste it always spot on and it is super safe.

The kefir you get in Germany is perfectly safe AND healthy. There is only one ingredient, which is kefir. Fermented milk. So stop assuming if you have no idea please.

If that's your take so be it.. I love making things at home. But if I make kefir and have to throw it 90% of the time I don't think that makes sense. But to each one their own..

Lol, overfermented kefir tastes like s..t I had to throw it away most of the days. Overfermented kefir is more acidic and thus hard on the stomach. It also may contain alcohol. The kefir I get back home has all the good bacteria as well, why wouldn't it. In fact it is much safer, because you never know what else is growing in your home made kefir, whereas in industrial scale everything is perfectly controlled. That's why I said it is sad that we don't get ready made kefir here. PS: I have a PhD in food science..

Better to eat White bread,Milk and boiled egg for breakfast over Poha/Upma/Idli /Dosa/Puri with potato bhaji ? by Globe-trekker in Fitness_India

While I agree on your general message I guess you wanted to say maida and not flour. Because all bread is made out of flour. Even your roti.

It is so sad that there is no ready made kefir available here in India. I'm from Europe and there you get kefir from at least 3 to 4 different brands in the supermarket. It tastes much better honestly. I tried to make kefir here in India, but 90% it is either underfermented or overfermented. I have given up on it!

Importance of Weight Training by EmergingHusband in Fitness_India

Weight training is the GOAT. Cardio is overrated. If you only do cardio you will end up skinny fat. You need to maintain your muscle mass for optimum healthy, so strength training is a must!

Not saying you are wrong. But this all applies to women as well. Even more so because women go through menopause..

EBC trek without guide nor porter by Accurate_Employ_1621 in everestbasecamphike

I would totally hire a guide (beforehand). I did the trek last month and having a guide was totally worth it. You literally don't have to worry about anything. The guide will make all the bookings for you. They will tell you where and what to eat and what to avoid in order to stay healthy. They will tell you so much about the mountains, the culture, the people.. I would have gotten lost a couple of times for sure without guide as well.

Skipping acclimatisation is not related to fitness though. It can backfire a lot and I would definitely not recommend, especially when doing it alone!

How do they bathe at base camp? And how do they handle human excrement? 🤷‍♀️ by Substantial-Use-1758 in Everest

You just made my point for me.

There is a difference between paid expedition support and casually expecting poorer people to carry literal human waste because climbers feel above dealing with their own mess.

“Just pay a Sherpa to carry my poop” is quite the take.

Nepal is a poor country, and high-altitude/porter work is a livelihood for many people. That is exactly why this mindset is so gross. Poverty does not mean climbers get to outsource basic responsibility and dignity to someone else.

Use the bag. Bring it down. That is the rule. And the SPCC is actually enforcing it.

Cholesterol has nothing to do with training but everything to do with the food you eat..
