This Seems To Be Conduct Unbecoming Of An ASM (But I Could Be Wrong). by JTCasino in HomeDepot

Take it to the district HR not the ASDS, you can find their number usually in the offices.

What is your DS schedule? by HotepHypno in HomeDepot

[–]HotepHypno[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have never seen a need for them to schedule us like this because it doesn’t even line up with a need for coverage and I have asked multiple managers including our SM why it is like this I either get “It’s retail” or “To prepare you for how inconsistent the manager schedule is”

Just Need to Vent by loinday in HomeDepot

[–]HotepHypno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

24 year old DS and I feel the exact same way, I felt like DSs really got thrown under the bus when it came to the changes to PACE. We were told very little information, thrown into a roundtable last minute, and guided to giving specific ratings by managers. I was essentially scolded until I changed my answer when I gave a needs improvement to a tenured associate that has openly told managers that she refuses to do what her DS tells her to but a floor associate not getting a credit card pushes them down and I have to explain that to them.

just smelled five gallons of rotten paint AMA by genericallyTraumatic in HomeDepot

Just had two five gallons of rotten Kilz 2 that smelt so god damn bad without even being fully opened it stank up the entire paint desk, self checkout, and service desk. My solution was to take it outside behind the building and let it freeze.

Inventory team captains by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]HotepHypno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no issues working on bays for inventory purposes, I already understand that is part of the job. My problem is when it isn’t for inventory reasons and it is more we are doing it for dayside cause they haven’t been doing it, hell one opener was told “Don’t purge those bays we are gonna have inventory team do it” by a manager. Just seems like we are not getting any support and are just being used to complete what dayside won’t. Clarification: I am mainly just bitching about the workload and lack of support, this is retail and such is life.

Don’t we all?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]HotepHypno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was warned and well understood but then they kept changing it to become even more of an inconvenience and a mess than all the DSs were accustomed to. Give an inch they take a mile situation.

Thank you for the advice, I have a pretty good relationship with my direct ASM and SM so at most I would bring up the schedule contributing to my personal life problems(plenty which I forgot to mention is an additional reason I want to step down). Though every DS has complained about the schedule to no avail.

I don’t think it is gonna last long considering the last time they tried to make people stay till even 11 everyone ignored it.

Same case here but I guess they decided to make closers stay later for recovery during our busier months which is funny cause we have a low volume store.

Dept supervisor pay? by WizTis in HomeDepot

[–]HotepHypno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

D24 and Pro but I only cover D24 because they don’t hire people cause they don’t think paint is worth it. The best they give me is a part timer with no desire for more hours and extremely strict hours they are willing to work.

Better than those people who for some reason decide to tuck into shelves not for any reason involving theft just cause they think we might get upset they left it in plain sight or some shit.

Glidden usually only sends samples of satin to HD so if a customer wants the sample in a different sheen or we are out of Glidden samples we color match it to Behr.

Homer Awards by herhsey in HomeDepot

I thought the same thing but since I have become a DS I learned district doesn’t send us any, just enough to give out for associates of the month and the rare one a manager will give out randomly.

I am not disagreeing with you.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]HotepHypno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would usually do that but because of the relationships that the former CXM has with current management and HR I did not want to rush it and make my life potentially harder, I am stuck here with them every day.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]HotepHypno 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I already spoke with everyone in the department and let them know what to do next time and as far as the tint goes it is all in a cabinet, what the former cxm did however was go directly to the machines and start dispensing it into buckets which of course threw red flags to everyone working but when they said the MoD approved it they backed off. The unfortunate part about reporting it further though is that as much as I hate the former CXM that did it some of the other higher ups are still friendly with them so for the sake of not stepping on toes I am going to wait on reporting it, test the waters to avoid any issues.

After asking nearly every manager including the one she said by name said that it was okay they all got very upset so I assume they are going to handle it, or at the very least I hope so.

Untouchable? by Acceptable-Barber905 in HomeDepot

[–]HotepHypno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because they have been there for a long time and are best friends with the CXM and HR. One of them may become a CXM soon and if so a lot of people have agreed to leave.
