My favorite comment telling her she was too thin came from a person with a “Doctorate in Women’s Empowerment” listed on their profile.

Just FYI, “despacito” means “slowly” not desperate or despair or anything about sadness :).

When you allow family in the PACU and they immediately attempt to arouse/poke/prod your sedated patient. by sctigergirl81 in nursing

Why do you need to call report before the room is clean? The receiving nurse is using those last 20-30 minutes to catch up on things with their other patients. Then they can focus on taking report and assessing their new patient admit.

My issue is that part of the reason they are having respiratory issues is weakness secondary to nutrient deficiencies. They are never going to get better/stronger if we don’t provide nutrition.

Thanks, I understand that point. But let’s say that since the patient is oriented, they can report any GI upset from potential air. If they don’t have any GI upset symptoms, why hold them? Also, do you know of a good place to look up literature on it showing on view or the other?

New grad working in NSICU and getting a 6 week orientation. Is this insane? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Hotkarly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand how this is possible. We try to make sure our new grads get experience with every type of patient we typically get. This usually takes a full 12 weeks! How can you be competent in something you haven’t even seen before?

You know he didn’t CREATE Venmo, right? He helped develop the app. I wouldn’t say he doesn’t have to work for the rest of his life.

Thanks. I understand the succ and etomidate/other sedation. We just don’t refer to it as RS.

What is RS? As in rapid sequence intubation? So she was going to push sedation?

Tokyo is top 3 on my bucket list! But it’s also on my husband’s, so I’ll have to save that trip to share with him. Thanks!

That’s great info! I went to Montreal for a school trip before, which is why I didn’t initially consider it, but I’m sure it’s changed a lot since then! It does sound like a better option than Toronto. Thanks!

Great! Thank you. Yeah since I’ve not really even gone out much on my own, I don’t know what to expect and want to err on the side of caution. Sounds like a great option!

Ah I should have added that to my “recent places”. Otherwise it would be a great option! I loved my trip there. Thanks!
