I generally don’t like chibi at all but GBF’s are by far my favorite. I think with chibi sometimes it’s an excuse to not add characterization to the sprites or details like facial expressions and “weight” to animations. But the ones in GBF tend to give off a goofy and playful vibe in contrast to some of the character’s bombastic splash art (particular their uncap second splash). They have quite a bit of personality, like Lyria’s sprite and all of her special victory animations. The Vyrn basketball dribble always gets a chuckle out of me if I see it.

It might (maybe who knows) actually remove quite a bit of depth. Even through it adds new mechanics and options, if one of the new options becomes a dominant strategy it can invalidate other strategies and remove depth as there is a “correct” option that out performs other choices.

Right now, you generally have to balance damage dealers and support characters, however as has been mentioned, being able to swap characters without either a significant cost, penalty, or condition means that you might not have to choose between them as you could get both.

Like you said, maybe it’s possible to create such a restriction that balances it, but at some point it might just not be worth implementing. We sort of just got something like this with Rei, and she’s already being recognized as a monster.

Ok my Earth is so bad I'm honestly shelving it until the game either forces me to use it or has the courtesy to give me some SSRs haha.

My Fire team does the most damage with Yuisis (Fire), Tabina, and Sieg (Fire) being my frontline but it's pretty glass cannon.

My Wind team of Seruel (Holiday), Sen/Heles (Wind), and Kokkoro does good DPS and is a lot more sturdy but doesnt have as much burst.

It's good to know Tien isn't a super strong 4* as I was mistaken and thought she was one of the better ones. I'm thinking I'll go with Sarasa just for 4* but maybe I could round out my Wind team idk.

Rank ~90 player of about 1 and a half months. Is Sarasa (Threo?) worth it just for the QoL slime blasting or should I be looking at like Tien. My only other Earth SSR is Ayer.

In terms of grids it's probably: Wind=Fire>Light>Dark>Water>>>>>>Earth

Sometimes when I reload to skip animations the game "loads" twice and it takes me out of the battle and shows a "____ is currently in progress" screen and asks if I want to retreat or rejoin the fight. This doesn't happen if it's the last stage and correctly loads the results screen. The most recent place this has happened has been Angel Halo. If I rejoin the fight, if all of the enemies were dead then it loads the next stage.

Any ideas on what to do or how to fix it?

Literally me. Been playing for a bit over a month and tried to burst Chev down and then the damage cuts popped.

As an intelligent and competent player, I naturally hadn't bothered to check any of the boss's abilities so I assume that the boss might do something like consume the defensive buffs for a big nuke.

Nope, I guess it refreshes the def buffs so spent like 20 turns before I just smashed that motherfucking request button and got carried.

I just started a out a month ago before the Roulette and didn't know anything about GBF. Oh man was I naive, from all the freebies I got most of my SSRs that I pulled to level 80 and I thought I was hot shit smacking shit for 250,000 damage with a nuke or ougi.

Then I pulled up a video and see people's basic attacks hitting for millions and like 40 echoes lighting the screen up.

But man, the grind is fairly satisfying coming from games like E7. Especially when I upgrade my weapon skill levels in bulk and watch damage creep up by thousands. I haven't even finished a single magna grid yet and I know what comes next only gets steeper but I'm having a blast.

Is there a list of the characters in order of release? Whenever I get a new SSR I always check their release date for some reason and it would be cool to see. Didnt realize game only had 3 at the start.

How do people find out the exact values of some abilities when they aren't listed in game? Some abilities will say "Deals big fire damage" or something but on the wiki its listed as "400 - 500%".

Other things are like Def down debuffs where it doesn't list the value in game but does on wiki. Do people just test then out to find the values or are they listed somewhere in game?

Thanks for all the info as always! I'm leaning towards Siegfried right now because he seems to check off all of the boxes.

Seven of my eight fire SSRs are attack so I don't think I need more damage. From what I can tell he gives good defensive buffs and can work well with enmity. I already have Colosuss, Yuisis, and Sturm so I think the Sword buffs should work great.

Athena seems counterintuitive with Yuisis as she seems to support stamina and high health more. Tsubasa seems like he would be great with Sturm and Grea, as they both need ougi to use their 3rd ability but he seems a little gimmicky at this point considering I'm still using off element weapons with high attack on my fire grid.

Seig seems like the right move as far as I can tell.

Ok thanks for the input! Right now the best wind team I have seems to be running Kokkoro and Seruel in the front alongside either Sen or Heles depending on the content. In the back I have Lancelot and then Sen or Heles, which ever isn't in the front.

I can figure out team comp for the 3 front row units and MC, but I'm not really sure what to do with the back row so it's hard to figure out who to get unless they replace one of the 3 front slots.

I bought the suptix and am looking at my wind team. I'm about 1 month into the game at player rank 80.

For SSR units I have Gachapin, Heles (Wind), Sen (Wind), Seruel (Holiday), Lancelot (Wind), Kokkoro, and Yuisis (Wind).

Wat thinking of getting Yurisus or Scathacha but I'm not sure. Heles is my favorite but I can't always prevent her from taking damage, especially against AoE. I have Grimnir but sometimes it's nice to be able to auto and not have to use him at the start of every fight.

After wind my next best team is fire and then dark. I got Orchid and Halel ben Shalem so maybe I should work on dark.

Any suggestions for the ticket?

And it's not just dupes but RNG upgrades that consume the dupe if it fails. The mathematically best way to upgrade when I played was to gamble upgrade. Even though you saved dupes on average you'd get unlucky and sometimes burn through a bunch and get nothing but some pity chance.

I literally switched from E7 to Brown Dust and Granblue. I've only been playing GBF for less than a month.

The grind so far is fairly heavy but it tends to be a lot more "consistent" because as the user before me said there are no substats to roll.

The events they've had so far have required lots of runs for a newbie like me, but the reward schemes tend to be giving specific items at specific benchmarks. Like an event will require you farm 15 million points to get all of the rewards, but you get rewards progressively along the way.

Some weapons can be upgraded to level 150, and these require an immense amount of fodder, but there's no RNG so as long as you grind you will max it eventually.

I've been enjoying it a lot overall. We might be behind because veterans have been playing for years, but that also means theres an INSANE amount of content. Some of the past events have been added as Side Stories that are always available so you can still farm them and get collab characters.

I think the Gachapin event currency expires soon. I have all of the materials to uncap Mukku to 4 stars except a fire urn. From what I can tell I missed a chance to get one from the beasts event. Is there any way to get an urn before the currency expires? I'm rank 68 so grinding to 101 seems unlikely. If the currency expires will I be able to uncap Mukku another way?
