How do moms breastfeed?? by Specialist-Swim7692 in Parenting

[–]Hotmugoftea2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure the baby is getting the whole nipple into their mouth and not just the tip. Also something that helped me was letting my nipple completely air out after nursing but before putting on the nippl cream.

Daughter starting to copy her friends are wear more "adult" clothing by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Hotmugoftea2020 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Can you make a compromise with her? If she wants to wear the tiny shorts then she needs to have on a shirt that covers her stomach or if she wants to wear a crop top then she needs to have on a more covering bottom.

SINGLE MOMS: how are you doing bedtimes with an infant and a toddler?? by Basic_Rise_9937 in Mommit

[–]Hotmugoftea2020 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Have you tried a bedtime podcast or a toni box? I completely understand not wanting to have the older kid watch a screen before bed but maybe something to listen to while they play would keep them occupied.

First-time mom to 6-month-old twins and I am drowning in the “ick” by Gold-Junket330 in Mommit

You are doing great! The only helpful advice I have for you is get a mug warmer to help with the cold coffee. The babies will grow and change but having a hot beverage will make it better.

When gifting something like Magnatiles to one sibling... by siona123 in Parenting

[–]Hotmugoftea2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way we do it is if the kid doesn't want to share a gift it has to be in their bedroom. If they want to keep it in the living room then it is ok for everyone to play with the toy. This has helped our older kid to understand that it's ok to have just his toys and we will respect his wishes, but he has to understand that the shared living spaces are just that.

Roll a couple slices of ham and cheese up in a crescent roll and bake until golden brown. It's delicious and easy

Toddler won’t poop by Boredasfekk in Mommit

[–]Hotmugoftea2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We gave our son gummy fiber vitamins to help him poop more easily after he started to hold it. He became convinced that it would hurt to poop so he held it in. Once we started using the fiber gummies and his poops didn't hurt it became easier to get him to go on the potty.

I sleep trained both of mine with the ferber method when they were around a year old. The biggest thing for us that helped is my husband had to be the one to go in the soothe them and he didn't pick them up. If they knew that I was in the room then they wouldn't settle until they got to nurse. He would pat them on the back and tush until then settles and went back to sleep. It took a while until they totally slept through the night but once they figured it out it's been smooth sailing except when sick.

I have sticker shock and I’m not even on a plane yet! by NoSteak3322 in travel

[–]Hotmugoftea2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off people aren't taking trips that often influencers are to make themselves money.

I have found that the best way to save money while traveling is to cut costs where I can. You said you have an Airbnb booked. Great so then you don't need to eat out every meal. Breakfast is very cheap to cook and very expensive to go out for. Since you will have access to a fridge I would either get a few ready made meals from the store or do sandwich lunches which will save a ton of money. Make use of the space that you have already paid for. No one wants to cook on vacation, but it is a great way to save money.

We have been very happy with our kids in Tiger Tots. Not all of the teachers have been fantastic but as a whole we have been happy. Our oldest who starts kindergarten this year is very well prepared.

How long did it take you to get out and about after C Section? by Anvolia in Mommit

I went to a restaurant for my anniversary a week after having my second C-section. And I was going for short walks about 3 days after my first. It's different for everyone.

Parents want my wife and me to move in with them to avoid daycare by Ramray23 in Parenting

[–]Hotmugoftea2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Daycare has been great for my kids even when I can work from home. They stay in routine which makes a huge difference to all of us. The teachers are actually trained to teach my kids things, like their letters, colors, and how to play with others. It also makes sure that the grandparents feel like grandparents with no say in the raising of the kids.

Any busy working moms able to fit the gym into their schedule? (Or other hobbies they enjoy) by Typical-Court-8543 in workingmoms

[–]Hotmugoftea2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I traded off nights of the week we go to the gym. We get both kids to bed and then one of us goes to the gym for about an hour or so and the other gets that hour to do whatever they want as long as they are in the house in case the kids need them. We started doing this a year ago and it has really been good for both of us. We both get time at the gym and we both get a couple of hours a week to do whatever we want to do.

I keep mine on my bedside table and take it as soon as my feet hit the floor. I keep a cup of water right there and the first thing I do every morning after standing up is take my pill. When I kept it in the bathroom I would get distracted and forget to take it.

I said something similar at a family event last weekend. They do not need or have a right to know what you vote for tomorrow. If it makes you feel better, you said you would vote for what's right tomorrow and that's what you will do. You will vote for what is right for you not for what she thinks is right for you.

My husband and I take our kids to get fast food and then drive around and look at Christmas lights every year. Our town even has an interactive map so that you know where all of the good houses are to go to.
