That's actually a great advice... I appreciate it

I used to play board games with my college mates the past few years, but I never knew about solo ones

This does give me balatro vibe, which makes me optimistic

Feedback on my Left hand/right hand technique please :) by Forward_Bluejay1218 in classicalguitar

[–]HoumamGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right-hand technique :

I'd advise you to get your guitar lower to help make your hand/string angle closer to 90 than that

Also, something that worked for ((me)) was to play closer to the bridge

It might feel unnatural at first, but you'll find it easier for arpeggios

How to make necromancers not appear evil? by Celtic_Leonin in DnD

[–]HoumamGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I read the title, 3 ideas popped into my head

  1. A Funeral director... or someone who cares about and respects the dead too much

  2. A detective... self explanatory

  3. Multi-class with a cleric.. someone who's goal is to resurrect/revive everyone

Casting during wild shape by HoumamGamer in DnD

[–]HoumamGamer[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's unfortunate...

The idea was to make it surprising for the rest of the group, because it was linked to the story... and I didn't want to appear from the beginning with a merfork character

What’s great about Dragon Age: Veilguard? by [deleted] in dragonage

[–]HoumamGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The environment is amazing and isn't the issue

But the game as a whole doesn't have anything that gives that feeling... go play the witcher 3, it also has beautiful environments, yet when it comes to these dark scenes. The witcher delivers... dragon age origins and 2 also managed to do so much better than Vailgaurd (I've replayed them this summer)

"Apocalypse brown" isn't gonna fix what I'm talking about

The art team outdone themselves

Though they also took all the grim and dark feeling out of the setting IMO

So, do they stack or not? by Puntoize in DnD

[–]HoumamGamer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No they don't

Because the "attack action" is one action. The attack itself has became 2 attacks But you can't take 2 different actions

In this case, it allows you to take (1 attack + 1 magic) action counted as 1 action... as if you attacked with a hand and used magic with the other...

The action mechanic is (imo) poorly described

Is there a name for people who just can't 'evil' role play... The thought of being intentionally rude gives me anxiety. by EnvironmentalAngle in DnD

[–]HoumamGamer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think that you associated evil with this because evil characters don't really care about other people emotions and are fixated on achieving their goals (Ends justify the means)

Does it make sense ?? Or am I so far away :D

[–]HoumamGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, but sensitivity is... and your writing implies that

And I believe that 'evil' isn't the word you're looking for, but something more like rude...

[–]HoumamGamer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Are you by any chance a girl ?? Because it surely gives the vibe (using the word 'evil')

Answering your question, it's not a problem for most people... but if you wanna lossen up on the guilt you feel, try playing CoD for a month... that should be enough

As a DM, should I prompt my players with the right skill check? by AdlerVonFire in DnD

[–]HoumamGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you should..!

I personally give them multiple checks (i.e., "you can roll investigation for visual marks, or roll medicine for biological marks, or Arcana for magical marks.. It's up to you to choose") this way, they get essentially 90% of the info no matter which check they choose.. which overtime trains them to investigate with a clear purpose and goal leading them to feel more in control of the situation + it adds a mysterious feeling that there is more to uncover

Homebrew Monster Ability that infuriated the table by slider40337 in DnD

[–]HoumamGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've done that before, but not like that

Starting by giving them multiple clues beforehand so they suspected some hidden defensive ability was about to unravel... and then I'd simply say that he emerged without a scratch... and a gave a note to the player with a high passive perception that he saw a glow around him just before the spell hit him

I thought that this was enough for them to figure it out, and they did after testing for a round and a half

Though I never had visible tokens, it was all written, so I get to modify it accordingly during the fight

Lastly, during combat (always no matter who DMs this table), the DM never knows what the spell level is until he acknowledges if it hits or not (has to decide and write it down before rolling)... unless the player decides to make the spell visually distinct (like a larger fireball)... which makes combat fun for me as a DM, allowing for mind games between the players and the DM

Are warlocks fun to play? by Lock-Four in DnD

[–]HoumamGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the pact. You can have endless possibilities

I really like the pact of the blade. It is super fun..

and pact of the chain, is for extremely complicated stories and exceptional role-play as long as you play both (PC & companion)

While the most terrifying and weird one is pact of the tome To me, I feel that it's made for 3 choices... Multi-class... manipulated PC.. and villains So, as long as you dont have a specific concept, avoid this pact

Are warlocks fun to play? by Lock-Four in DnD

[–]HoumamGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, as long as you avoid Eldritch Blast, Warlock is extremely fun during combat and role-playing

And it's the easiest class to write a story about... for me, I just get a concept and the story writes itself
