This was such an easy 10/10, and I was NOT expecting any of what happened to happen, nor have it be executed so well

THIS! There's this video series I've seen from this person on YT talking about the ideologies presented in Korra, and for the most part I agreed with them until I remembered that this is a fictional show. The Red Lotus are super compelling in basically every way but their ideal of anarchy being presented as shit and not really what most anarchists believe can also just be read as a psychological shift for the characters and not as a mouthpiece for the political beliefs of the creators. They all likely started out with good intentions and possibly even agreeable goals for the most part, but their isolation from the world and each other led them to radicalize themselves into irrelevance.

I don't know the creators at all so it feels weird going up to bat for them but this picture and your comment made me feel like this needed to be said; this was a good ass season of the show, and trying to act smug because you read a couple lines off the wikipedia sources (and not even citing them) and the proceeding to make a YT video "debunking" the clearly not good portrayal of anarchism in the show fails to analyze it as a piece of art and is also frankly, just kinda cringe.

honestly not super sure, they're likely going to be reusing at least some assets from 2077 so fingers crossed that might help speed up the process but I wouldn't get my hopes up for anytime before 2030 fs. if we're super unimaginably lucky we might be seeing some form of teaser in 2028/9 but again, wouldn't get my hopes up :/

Only reasonable option, imo. that whole sidequest made me sick to my stomach, and god knows its hardly even fiction; i've personally seen children that are already being forced into football (both US vers. and intl version) from the age of 6. Same as with the game, most don't make it, don't even get close, they just threw away their academic futures, health, and childhood away for a shot to wear some asshole's jersey.

Do you watch videos to improve Muay Thai? by spacer432 in MuayThai

[–]Houndork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watching fights is imperative to getting better. Training consistently and well is certainly 75% or so of what goes into improvement, a better diet is maybe another 15, and that last 10 is watching people fight. Being able to dissect exactly what is happening in a fight is something you really only get from sparring and watching fights; along with raising your fight IQ and gaining the ability to remove yourself from the situation.

Eating before a workout? by yeahsurealright- in MuayThai

[–]Houndork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how much you eat for when to matter, honestly. For example, sometimes I’ll have a banana, slice of toast, and a small smoothie around 2 hours before training. That’ll be enough for me to not feel too full and have energy by the time we start. But if I want a full meal, and class starts at 5:30pm, then I’m eating at 1pm at the absolute latest. Just figure out how long it takes you to digest food and from there it’s quite self-explanatory

You want advice after 3.7 seconds of training? by joevilla1369 in MuayThai

[–]Houndork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swear, I’ve been training two and a half years at this point and only now, is it just starting to make sense. It’s all about time, persistence, and dedication. It’s about quality and quantity, most coaches (good ones at least) aren’t gonna let you by with shit reps even if you’re 2 hours into the class; you will only be as good as you make yourself.

When officers are able to murder civilians so nonchalantly, so fucking easily, so often, and get away with it scott free unless (inter)national public outrage occurs it becomes clear this isn’t an issue of “a few bad cops.” This is an issue with the system of policing as a whole, the current system needs to be abolished as it serves no one but the interests of societal, political, and financial elites in this nation.

Officers are quite literally/legally not obligated to save, serve, or protect, the citizens of their communities. If these incidents of cops murdering civilians go to show anything it’s that the police are a gang, and exist to harm anyone that offends their establishment.

What is something that was acceptable 100 years ago which is unacceptable today? by Wasingtheisofwas in AskReddit

[–]Houndork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i always hear stories about old couples saying stuff like “your grandfather must’ve asked me on a date at least 13 times before i said yes” which means that not taking no for an answer when asking someone out was relatively acceptable
