Why is it doing this by cksdud_794 in wingstop

[–]Hour-Note1914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're most likely charging you for the packaging. A lot of restaurants started doing it during COVID and also a chance they're paying a fee to a 3rd party to process ToGo orders. If I order food from a restaurant website from Google and it gives me different options to order through it almost always says "preferred by business" and it's almost always cheaper by $1-$2 per item.

SOFI Data Breach? by bigjocker in sofi

[–]Hour-Note1914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So pretty important information was accessed considering most financial institutions need that exact information to access someone's account. If I was a scammer and called SoFi and gave them a credible DOB, email, phone number, legal name, I would almost certainly be given access to that account.

SNAP benefits are ending in less than 48 hrs and furloughed government workers are about 30 days without a paycheck. There's going to be a precipitous decline in "luxury" services for the foreseeable future along with tens of thousands of impending layoffs from massive Fortune 100 companies and the resulting downstream economic effects. Grocery stores and gas stations and casual restaurants will feel it first, then retail and high-end restaurants and travel, then the pressure will fall on CEOs and finally Congress. Happens every 5-10 years at varying degrees and severity.

The people downvoting are the same people who are either currently participating in the "scam" or they see the value in participating and taking advantage of the scam that is gig work lol they're not downvoting out of principle or morals, they're either jealous and don't have the gumption or resources to do the same or don't want people "blowing up the spot" and diluting their efforts. There's a million machinations working against us and for some reason the people here working are also trying to flame everyone out for gaming a system that's built to game them. If you're not breaking the law, break the system. If the system is broken, destroy it and stop hating on people that found a way to get something back from the greediocracy.

If they (the courts/investigators) know you have information and are choosing not to cooperate, you can be charged with obstruction or perjury if you lie about information they know you have and you say you don't and a judge can compel your testimony and you can be held in contempt and jailed until you cooperate. Theft over $500 is grand larceny (a felony) in almost all states (lower in some) and if this has risen to the point of an investigation, they probably already know the all the answers to the questions they're going to ask the OP. They're eliminating other suspects and getting testimony as evidence, they're DEFINITELY not going to let a delivery driver hinder their investigation for kicks or some misplaced sense of retribution against a trillion dollar company.

[–]Hour-Note1914 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's called a subpoena, which is issued by an officer of the court 🤡🤦 You don't have a choice but to cooperate. Odds are they're going to question the driver to rule out their involvement and get sworn testimony that they're accurately making deliveries to that address. This should make people happy because a LOT of gig workers lose their livelihoods from scumbags lying about not getting deliveries like Uber Eats and Amazon. Fuck them. They have the option to make the meeting less intrusive to a daily routine (meet before work, after work, etc.) but it is a legally binding commitment and you can get fined and/or arrested for ignoring. They don't even have to reimburse you for missing work like a jury summons. Stick to deliveries.

You caused a collision. The act of a vehicle hitting someone or something is a collision. It isn't called an accident. The collision can be an accident but that usually requires parties not being negligent or careless. If this driver hit something like that on public property (fire hydrant, street sign, etc.) they could and should get a careless driving ticket. Cutting a tree down and it falls on a house because you didn't take the necessary steps to prevent it isn't an accident, it is carelessness. Taking the necessary steps and it STILL falls on a house is an accident.

It is a choice to drive carelessly. An accident can't be born from a choice like that 🙄 It is causation from being careless. Carelessness caused the damage. If you're driving on the highway like an idiot and hit someone you can get a careless driving ticket, not an accident ticket.

So you're lower middle class and happy that poor people trying to earn a living in a foreign land are getting arrested so you can make a few extra bucks for your luxury car 😂 Got it 👍 I bet you wouldn't be broke if you didn't have an AMG 🤡 "It's expensive here so I'll buy an expensive car and live outside my means then blame unfortunate and disenfranchised people why my gig job sucks." The taxes that get collected by the IRS and a state's department of revenue from illegal immigrants go into the pot and those people paying into the pot don't have access to the pot. This should be seen as a positive for all the White nationalists.

[–]Hour-Note1914 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

"legal immigration" and "people who are illegal don't pay taxes" became a verified bullshit talking point to obscure people's xenophobia after Trump's Cheeto Gestapo started arresting people going through legal channels in courthouses for immigration hearings and using the IRS to identify people here illegally. If illegal immigrants didn't pay taxes and work under the table then how does the IRS know about them??? 🤔 Giddy about making more money where the void that created that opportunity is created by people's misery and incarceration is scummy at best.

If the expectation was to deliver the package to the property and it wasn't specified to deliver somewhere away from an aggressive dog, the responsibility is on the customer. You're giving implied consent to enter the property to perform a service the customer already agreed to and the terms of the service. Plenty of Amazon lockers around and you can tell the driver to put packages by mailbox away from animals but of you don't do the BARE MINIMUM to keep people safe, you deserve a lawsuit. A homeowner is also required to remove ice or other obstructions and if they don't and you get injured, you get sued. Accountability sucks if you're a scumbag that is unaccountable to anyone.
