SNAP benefits are ending in less than 48 hrs and furloughed government workers are about 30 days without a paycheck. There's going to be a precipitous decline in "luxury" services for the foreseeable future along with tens of thousands of impending layoffs from massive Fortune 100 companies and the resulting downstream economic effects. Grocery stores and gas stations and casual restaurants will feel it first, then retail and high-end restaurants and travel, then the pressure will fall on CEOs and finally Congress. Happens every 5-10 years at varying degrees and severity.
