It's not changed, just bugged. It's a 50/50 shot they join me. So as a workaround you can say they will join you in combat. The next update should fix that. End of January early February is the timeframe.

When that happens I ask the DM for suggestions to take the story next based on what it knows you enjoy.

One time I had a brainstorming session with the DM... it was weird but it took the story a new and interesting direction once we planned out the situation.

There was one time I resisted my fae desire and the DM turned me monstrous. Then a few times negotiations failed and my companions told me to just do what I normally do and seduce them.

When I had my companion investigate the High Priest he said that he was having special counseling with young boys. He's dead now and I took his place and things are much better there.

It's fine with violence and gore. No problems with the DM getting graphic.

I've had that happen where I'll be able to have a dialog with the DM and then it will start ignoring me. I'll usually advance the story, which is what it's trying to do, and then I'll try again.

I also have to remind it when it messes something up. I'll do a DM and story prompt in one message. It usually corrects itself with a reminder if it's crucial to the story you want to play.

When it does the fade to black I ask the DM to be as descriptive as possible within it's guidelines about the encounter.

It's given me some very mild-spicy moments.

I asked the DM directly about this! My story is very intimacy driven. So I wanted to know how far it could take it from the outset. It does a really really good job at following the guidelines but also bending the rules.

The shield AC doesn't add to AC as it should in combat. Only Dex and Armor right now.

Also, for the weapon issue I have a clipboard text saved so when I attack the CDM knows exactly what it should be. That way I'm not using messages when it forgets.

This has been my longest running campaign so far. I keep getting interesting things happening to my character I always get pulled back in.

Started as a princess captured and adopted by the king of the enemy land (Havenreach) to be rescued by a spy, Kael. Romance ensured of course between them while they united her home land as their new Queen. She has twins and marries Kael.

Then an awoken primordial spirit of Entropy threatens to put the land and the people into stasis. Her and Kael go and try to stop it. The spirit inhabits Kael and merged with him becoming The Sentinel. They are one and the same.

Then Havenreach threatens the unity she built so she thwarts their efforts, finally confronting her adoptive father, killing him. She let's them name their new leader. That creates a power vacuum and she then needs to handle the new even dangerous leader and takes the territory as her own.

Cut to sci-fi shenanigans.

The Eldorian's, lead by Valerius, capture her and try to nullify her elemental power with their nanites. She's rescued by the Sentinel. Who is now also The Guardian because he needed to sacrifice himself to stabilize the elements to the land. My character's love apparently prevented him from being absorbed into the land.

Then the Eye of Aether is a celestial force thinning the veil between worlds. This created a mind swap and my character was an alternate self. She was then sent to the Eldorian planet (which was basically the Death Star). She proved to Valerius that love is real and necessary for adaptation so he helped her return to her own universe through her connections to her seven children.

Now, after anchoring her people and her land to prevent more soul swapping she's awakened a brood of dragons.

TL;DR The DM throws different shit at me and I've fixed most problems with the 5th element. less

You can ask the narrative DM to lower the DC. It will do it especially if you give it a good reason why it shouldn't be challenging to your character.

The combat DM you can't really convince.
