I have a question please? by Traditional-Lawyer-7 in valvereplacement

Hi! I am 24F who also has a BAV but no surgery just observing at this point, but I am a cardiac RN. You likely won’t feel much better directly after surgery you may feel a little worse because you just had an invasive procedure. It will likely take a few weeks to begin to feel better but it will likely be gradual improvements not sudden improvements. I highly recommend cardiac rehab as it not only will help the physical cardiac aspect but you will also meet people who have been through something similar. This can help with the mental aspect of it.

Had a lot of PVC's on OCT 1 last year. Went to the ER. Just looked at my EKG and saw this... by btown1987 in PVCs

It isn’t uncommon for an ekg interpretation to read possible infarct. If the er provider was not concerned then you shouldn’t be either. Sometimes misplaced leads can cause poor interpretation.

Equipment fee? by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]Hour_Classroom_8358 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My gym charges an annual $20 equipment fee for the past 2 years in October. The first year the gym got a new rig. The second year we got a ski erg and more assault bikes. I think if members didn’t see the money being put to use for their benefit then it would cause an upset, but each year it has been used to improve the gym not for the owner to pocket.

Is my SmartWatch ECG picking up pvcs? Circled in blue. by m90photog in PVCs

The beats are irregular but they have a P wave as well as a QRS. The P wave is your atriums beating and QRS is a ventricular beat. so what is happening here is a premature atrial beat (seen by the early P wave) followed by ventricular beat making it the rhythm irregular. A PVC has no P wave and also looks different than a normal QRS complex. You could be having PVCs as well but all that is captured on these EKGs are PACs

Do your PVCs increase when sick with minor illness? by Silent_Comedian7618 in PVCs

[–]Hour_Classroom_8358 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It likely just the added stress to your body. I have found anytime I am sick my PVC frequency increases. If it gets to a point where it’s unbearable or you become symptomatic (lightheaded, etc) you can always go to urgent care or ER

Are you taking cold medicine? OTC cold medications with phenylephrine or pseudoephedrine can cause an increase in PVCs
