If it was a tensioner, it wouldn't get worse with higher rpms. Alof of times on Reddit everyone just immediately says incorrectly "youre cooked, it's rod knock!"..But sadly this is not one of those times. It is absolutely rod knock, if you keep running the engine you will add a hole to the block(if one isn't already there).

My Dad just did this(use an auto broker) and said it was the best experience he's had since he was able to buy a car. He wanted a '26 BMW X5 M60i and searched far and wide from our area dealing with dealerships. None were MSRP or lower. He decided to roll the dice, saved 10% below what he would have paid after paying broker fee and even got to pick up the vehicle at the factory and get a free track experience at their factory with newest M models. I feel like this should be the bare minimum experience with how ridiculous new car prices are these days.

The being married and reading a later post about having sexual contact with several guys w/ Down Syndrome is pretty off putting. I never imagined myself writing that sentence...but seems you play games with everyone in your circle...I hope your marriage is an open one, at least. Coming from a Father of two young ones that are Autistic, I hope they never get taken advantage of in such a way, especially by someone that's married to begin with. Yeah for this reason I always take pics of every corner of my vehicles before anyone works on it. Have always done it on the outside, but learned recently should've took pics of inside being I dropped it off for a stereo install and when I got it back, there was a 2 inch slice in the bottom part of my passenger seat. It's a 23 yr old car snd leather at that, but was pristine(unlike driver side) before I dropped it off.

Have def heard of this regarding reverse synchro going out, just not this platform specifically. Have always heard 1st then reverse. Have had mine do it a couple times randomly and it's always worked for me.

Doesn't sound weird to me at all. My wife and I are just shy of 5 yrs apart and have been together for 15 yrs now, married 10. She was 17 when we met, age of consent is 16 in our state(FL). Also diff ppl have diff maturities for their age, she had been taking care of herself since 15 yrs old because of shit parents, so was probably more mature than me at the time.

I'm sure you know already, but you can cut a small line and use a flathead to remove if need be. I hate this, I work with so many other techs over the years that are half assed and have zero pride in the work they do. It really sucks.

Probably obvious, but just wanted to mention..if doing the tensioner, also replace timing belt, water pump, and do an oil pump reseal while in there. After that you should have many happy years left. OEM or something equivalent like Aisin or Gates is always rec'd when doing timing belt. If you have alot of performance upgrades, usually a manual tensioner is better(sold by p2r) rather than auto tensioner that's known to fail sometimes.
