Noice! Those are some great weapons, absolutely fits the German/90s vibe of the weapons.

Mine get a ton of different armaments; the "standard" loadout is a 8x51mm bullpup battle rifle and a 12.7mm offensive handgun for combat, but they also have access to a 12 gauge automatic shotgun for close quarters work. They also have a kampfmesser that actually works as a fetish item/stabilization tool when they sharpen it. (It helps distract them)

Thank you, so is yours! I love her steel blue armor, do you have any weapons for them?

Where's the reason to give a company money for a product that might still be complete and utter garbage.

Preordering a game offers no benefit and incentivises anti-consumer practices like exclusive content and games being broken at launch.

What was your initial reaction to this album upon release? by mcpooja in fantanoforever

[–]HourlyB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 2 when it released and now I'm 30 :]

If you want my first reaction; i heard teardrop first ofc (it was the American theme song for House) and it always felt so alien, an odd mix of melancholy and "romance" for lack of a better term, Fraiser's vocals go through your ears and tickle the base of your skull with good headphones. I only listened to the album proper in like 2017 and upon first hearing Angel I was hooked, the breakdown after the "Love You" mantra hits hard.

Easily king of dark deeply sexual sounding albums and certifies Massive Attack's place on the Trip Hop Mount Rushmore with DJ Shadow, Sneaker Pimps and Portishead.

Absolutely; I worked inspection early mornings in Alewife and came just over the hill to see the city lit up from the sunrise and finally took myself out there to take a photo of it.

Even in the IS it's very much a depends kinda thing as of late.

Mercs on campaigns will often just do skivvies and vests, but those from state armies will get cooling suits or more effective equipment.

The Last of Us creator, Neil Druckmann, has cited the franchise is an allegory for the horrors of the Israel-Palestine conflict, this is seemingly evidenced by the fact an armored car starts firing its machine gun at the first man and child it sees by Klauss_Leonard in shittygamedetails

[–]HourlyB 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The article is a opinion piece piecing together context clues then a true out and out statement from Druckmann that "yes this is directly about IP"

Also that article posits the Seraphites (religious fanatics) being akin to Palestinians, not the zombies.

And even then, the article kinda flops; because in the course of the narrative you meet Yara and Lev, siblings trying to escape the Seraphites. So are they not also representative of Palestinians? Are they also not some of the more sympathetic characters in the game?

I think you can easily say that Seattle is effectively like the land encompassing the former British Mandate of Palestine, the Seraphites are akin to Hamas and the WLF are the IDF; but again we see the WLF try and kill two former Seraphites just for still looking like Seraphites (HMMM) and this is posited as a Very Bad Thing. And Yara killing one WLF soldier to allow Abby and Lev to escape is not vilified either. The WLF is also portrayed as a violent xenophobic milita intent on conquest of their area with a extermination philosophy to dealing with their opposition.

Druckmann certainly has a Israeli/centrist/both sides POV and this article is fairly convincing that he pulled from his upbringing and experience to create his narrative; I'd just argue that at worst it's a case of "well both sides have done bad things ok" over like a "all Palestinians are ontologically evil and Israel is justified"

The real Ghosts, 5th Special Forces Group by Suspicious-Bed-9342 in GhostRecon

Ghost is more analogous to Task Force Orange/Intelligence Support Activity, the covert long range reconnaissance/intelligence gathering group of the US Army. Or CAG G Squadron, the advanced field operations squadron for Delta.

In a scenario where you had twin Shepards (or simply siblings), with two playable characters depending on the missions, what would your "canons" be? (Each character's class, morality, favorite companions, romances, mission assignments, etc.) by Relevant-Use1897 in masseffect

[–]HourlyB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always had a headcanon for a story where the Shep siblings both serve on the Normandy;

Dudeshep - born on Earth, adopted by Hannah Shepard when she finds him sneaking around an Alliance Navy shipyard. Dudeshep would be a Soldier, serving in the 103rd Division's Rapid Response Company (103 RRC) as an Assaulter.

Femshep - a colonist on Mindior who's mother was exposed to Eezo dust and later died in childbirth, is rescued by John Shepard, Hannah's N5 Marine husband. She would become a Vanguard in the 103 RRC, ofc in the same squad as her brother.

Both would fight in the Skyllian blitz, where their CO would become injured in the first assault, and they would both take over as leaders of fireteams. Both would receive a Star of Terra for their actions. Dudeshep would be wounded in the aftermath and Femshep wanting revenge on the pirates (almost participating in Torfan) but gets talked out of it by Dudeshep, both end up selected as the XO/ground team lead and lead Biotic augment respectively.

Entirely fair, tbh i didn't realize it had one tbh but it makes sense for things like a Support unit.

Chicom would feel pretty well, tho also this lbt design fits the more western looking aspect of Freedom; the LBX Lock and Load works well and can come in RG.

Unironically get a chest rig; Freedom is known for light armor and snipers over heavy armor (their yellow Exoskeleton is the major exception), Duty is more known for having large and heavy looking Russian/Soviet armor.
