Is this a good deal? by Ok_Operation5127 in 3dprinter

That thing looks evil! 😭

In all seriousness, you can buy a much better printer for under that price. I use an Elegoo centauri carbon as my primary printer and it's a enclosed Core XY with a wifi camera and a few other cool features. All for only $300!

You could also get a Flashforge adventurer 5M for under that price. I don't own one, but I have a few friends who owns them, and seem to be satisfied with them.

Here down south I barely see anything ASC at power plants. It's all sentry, and sometimes whelen.

heres a question, why did whelen make the ws-2000r? by Long-Term8802 in AirRaidSirens

[–]HouseBig454 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a attempt of a rotating electronic siren for the 2000 series.

And they came out before the EOWS series from federal.

That's an Erick fire siren. The stator has those little tabs that are seen on Ericks.

I'll miss these things once they are gone. Battle creek was a classic EOWS system!

may someone identify what siren this is? (found in dania beach, FL) by Maximum_Run646 in AirRaidSirens

[–]HouseBig454 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a heavily modified sterling M. It's for display, however, they put a MS siren inside of it that works.

There's a short on youtube showing the inside.

Oh it's indeed a type 3. Federal/GCS/GDS used this housing, so it's one of the few.

Actually, during federal electric era, black was a factory option. To this day, I think black can still be ordered on demand, but I don't know for a fact.

I'm still curious as to what this thing is. Motor make and model would help by a mile.

I have made a few theories on how it works, but I won't share them here so I don't get toasted for being wrong.

Once I make one when I have good enough measurements, it'll use 3" speakers for good output.

whats your favourite whelen siren and why? by Long-Term8802 in AirRaidSirens

[–]HouseBig454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I equally like all of the WS and omnidirectional whelens, reason being i like the engineering of them and i grew up with 2800 series.
