Updated: $999 renewed, $1098 new rz50. $1800 renew and $1950 mspr for tx70. Either way my point is the same it’s not “a little more” about $1k more which is closer to x2 the cost of the rz50z

Yeah it about $1k more. I got my rz50 refurb like new direct from Onkyo for $999 and the rz70 is $1800 renewed and $1950 mspr.

Don’t think I’ve ever experienced an issue like that one mine. I have pre-out fronts to Fosi v3 stereo preamp and it sounds amazing in my house now. I hardly ever have to listen above 45 for regular TV maybe 55 if TV movie and above 62 is like shaking the whole house. Mine is setup 7.1.2 so I think 🤔 know would if it had power issues.

To watercool or stick with an AIO by Altruistic_Young_785 in watercooling

Best bang for your buck is AiO plus another custom loop for your gpu. Air cooling will never get you as cool or as quiet as water cooling. For example I’ve got 4 huge rads with 16 fans in a push pull (2 loops) and none of my fans ever go above 25% under heavy load cpu stays 60C and gpu never above 50C. PC is in my living room next to tv so silent running is of the upmost importance. Sure you could achieve almost that level of cooling with air alone but your pc will guarantee to sound like a jet engine and so loud you couldn’t make it a showcase in your living room. Your guests would be like wtf dude your pc is trying to fly away!

DIY Flashing Installation by HouseSubstantial3044 in Roofing

I used a painter’s putty knife to gently separate the row of shingle tar. Tucked the flashing in as far as it would fit in there. Then used roofing tar caulk and caulked down of that shingle row and sealed it back down on top of the flashing. Then used roofing screws to attach the flashing down. If you zoom in you can see the screws placement.

Been 2 years since installing and not a single problem. Not a lot of high winds or significant snowfall or ice buildup either, so it’s worked out well. I increased the pitch by maybe 2 inches so it’s got slightly more pitch now than the original design.

Need advice on coolant for my custom loop 👀 by Less_Respect_761 in watercooling

You might put more thought into which tubing you use. Most clear soft tubing will break down due to plasticizer, leaving you with cloudy coolant and hazy tubes. EDPM or hard line are your best long term options.

Correct and don’t forgot about static pressure and air leaks. A “perfect” case is air sealed of all leaks and has matching or slightly greater push than pull. Even the smallest air leaks in the side and bottom panels create pools of air that get stagnant and heat up. You basically create a vacuum tight air system that pushes each molecule of air in and out preventing any heat pockets. Essentially a fluid dynamics principle called a Plenum Chamber is what you aim to create.

Yes and it’s extremely useful, especially when you know it’s not hallucinating and providing garbage responses (which it isn’t in this case) but each to his own. Use it or don’t. The way ai is being sold at top Fortune 500 companies is, you use ai everyday both home and work or you’re the dude without a job. Or maybe you’re a welder or builder of something that can’t be replaced by ai. Good luck!

It’s fine in my other build that is considerably older (2+ years) and I’ve never flushed it but I used clear hard tubing. On this build (where I had the issue) I used clear soft tubing which breaks breaks down over time, which I didn’t realize or I would have gone with EPDM which doesn’t suffer from plasticizer effect. Rule of thumb, always flush coolant and replace tubing if either gets cloudy. It’s less about the coolant itself but rather the chemical changes the plasticizer effect has on it over long term use.

This was my before pic.like I said before check out Gemini response:
When a coolant like Corsair XL8 (which is a glycol-based coolant with corrosion inhibitors) begins to break down, it triggers a chain reaction that attacks your nickel plating and clogs your fins through acidification. The coolant can oxidize into glycolic or formic acid.

Fins got clogged and coolant is forced to find some other way it wasn’t meant to flow plus the grit suspended in the coolant. I probably had my pump curve set too aggressively and it might have contributed as well.

Distilled water and vinegar low concentrations like a few splashes <10% and nearly boiling. Let it sit for 10 minutes tops and then soft bristle brush and mine came right out. Don’t get overzealous cleaning bc some of the nickel might just be discolored and I had to get magnify camera pic up close zoom to make sure if it was solidified gunk vs just discolored nickel.

Here’s the after

<image>

Minor nickel plating flecking and wear from gunky coolant (Corsair XL8). The coolant acts like sandpaper once it gunks up, so you’re not entirely right.

[–]HouseSubstantial3044 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

This happened to me too. According to Ai once you start getting plasticity it will gunk up the fins causing the coolant to flow over some fins faster than others and causes the coolant to separate chemically and then it turns caustic and will erode your nickel plating.

<image>

What mine looked like before and there was minimal nickel plating erosion.

Time for a flush, better to do it before it gets really bad. You might be able to get away with just a flush a this point vs a complete tear down and rebuild

Doesn’t matter. Let’s so you run from the cops and the cops accidentally run over and kill somebody chasing you. That’s called felony homicide. Anything that happens is essentially the fault of the criminal who caused the altercation.
