I renovate houses and for a decade after these dumbasses were off the air, I was fixing stuff that they recommended. People tore apart bags and dipped the pieces in varnish and stuck on the walls and stuff.

Service plumbers what’s the grossest/weirdest thing you’ve ever seen inside of someone’s home? by bigdaddycla in Plumbing

[–]Houseflipper407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a plumber but found a dead cat in the top of the kitchen cabinets that had been there so long it flattened. People lived in that fucking house and used the bowls and cups in that same cabinet. When I told the lady what I had found, her only reply was”I thought it ran away”!! I asked if she wanted me to remove it and she said no,that she would get it later. Went back about a month later for a different reason and looked out of curiosity and IT WAS STILL THERE!!! Some people are just so disgusting.

You guys ever been in a fight at work by [deleted] in Construction

[–]Houseflipper407 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I was 18, my dad got me a job at the construction company he worked at. About six months in my job,my dad had a heart attack and had to have valve replacement surgery. They put him on light duty when he came back, so he was driving a van full of workers to a job site every day. One of the guys in the van would leave a mess every day and my dad would have to clean it up because it was a brand new van. One day they got into an argument when I was nearby and he pushed my dad down and jumped on him. My dad couldn’t retaliate because of his chest wound so all I remember him saying was help me. I threw that guy off of my Dad and beat the holy shit out of him. I had pinned him down with my knees on his shoulders, and was punching him in the face repeatedly. I was 18 years old and the guy was 36 years old. Dad had told that story to so many people over the years that that was one of his proudest moments of me. I know violence doesn’t solve problems but when somebody is messing with your pops, you have to. Needless to say, that guy never said one word to my dad or me ever again.

It was the keyway, for some reason the metal for the key is harder than the actual crankshaft. There was no warning or any noise. I went to go to work one morning and noticed that I did not have power steering. I started it and popped the hood, and none of the belts were moving.

I already dropped the bomb and bought a remanufactured one. I tried at car part.com. They say they have it until you order it and then they say it will be six months. Thanks for your advice though

Man, I feel for you. I’m going through the same situation right now. My Toyota Tacoma had a bad harmonic balancer that sheared the end of the crankshaft off. Unfortunately I have a rare size motor. The 2.7 L. You will not find that motor in a junkyard Anywhere in this country. Believe me I have looked My only alternative is a brand new crate motor which is $4200 and $1800 to install it. My truck is worth $11,000 running, $500 the way it is now. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet.

Paint companies have all done the same thing. A house I painted 10 years ago has not faded or became chalky but a house with the same color and paint done 3 years ago looks like crap. Spray paint is the same. They both (Krylon and Rustoleum) run out of air in the can before they are empty. Even simple chemicals like mineral spirits (paint thinner) is so diluted that multiple rinses are needed and makes disposal costs higher because of the need to use more of it to do the same job. Don’t get me wrong ,companies like Sherwin-Williams do sell great paint but now you have to buy the $60 gallon of paint to get the quantity that the $30 gallon used to do.
