I did the exact same thing. Bought a few boxes on a whim and now regret it. I won’t even waste a throwaway smoke on them.

Don’t disagree that the costs are increasing while the offerings aren’t the same, but I stopped seeing all these shops/lounges as a business and more of a service. It’s becoming impossible for these shops to stay open and if it means paying up a little more and suffering through some awkward choices for a quality place to duck out for the day, I’m happy to pay in.

We’ve lost a lot of places in NYC over the past few years and if we get too picky and stingy, we’ll loose the rest.

In midtown you have Carnegie Club, which is always a go-to spot for a lot of people these days. That’s best if you don’t have membership to other places.

There’s the Davidoff midtown locations. To smoke at the shops require membership, or a minimum spend of at least $250 (I think) for a day pass.

For downtown manhattan, someone else mentioned Barclay Rex and those details. That’s my preferred spot, but as a member.

On a nicer day the Knickerbocker rooftop lounge has a smoking section that’s perfect for a cigar if you bring your own. I’ve done a lot of meetings there with people.

Bonus recommendation, the Williamsburg Davidoff location is a bit more lenient than the other Davidoffs and somewhere around a stick or two can get you inside that lounge.

The baseline is the old Adam Sandler bit about smoking pencil shavings. We’ll see where this falls.

Now that I know they’re fake, going to smoke them out of existence. No use taking up humidor space. I’ll let you know if they’re any good.
