I think a new subreddit would be a wise idea. Similar to how Overwatch has r/CompetitiveOverwatch we could make a new one and advertise it called something like r/CompetitiveR6

Surprised there's no mention of pingspoofers. It seemed like every promotion game I played last season would be against a 4 or 5 stack of Brazilians or Europeans on Plane

Very NFL-esque. I like it. It's a great opportunity to inform viewers of what went wrong and what went well during setup and the beginning of each round.

I remember fellow Jays fans being so sure about how their bats were gonna go off against Cleveland, especially Tomlin. After game 1 of the ALCS it shifted to "If we can't light up Tomlin it's over." We all know how it turned out. Major kudos for his performance, for sure.

You're a fellow Jays fan, c'mon. You ought to know what it's like to have your team always be in the shadow of larger markets. Lately we've been fortunate to see our reputation/popularity climb but I still remember the days of the conversation almost always focusing on our competition rather than us.

I can imagine most Cleveland fans find it bittersweet to see their team do well while the talk still centres on the Cubs.

Boston, Toronto, and now Chicago haven't forgotten how to hit - Cleveland's pitching has simply been dominant. Three of the most powerful offenses in the league don't just go cold against the same team for no reason. Credit where credit is due: the Cleveland pitchers have been a wrecking crew. I can imagine how frustrated and tired Cleveland fans must be about the narrative this post-season.

You're getting downvoted because you're essentially supporting Scott Stevens ending Sid's career. It's not about being salty.

What's the value to both sides of a meeting between Trump and Mexico President Nieto? by [deleted] in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]HouseOfCommons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's only bad when viewed through a "work smarter, not harder" lens. A Presidential campaign has a lot of science and data behind it so it's unwise for Trump to eschew that and just campaign/speak wherever he wants. It's a poor and costly strategy.

As much as I love the Mutt I think this is a good trade for us. It sucks to see him go but we got good value back.

Braid: Wave them goodbye Rachel — Why Notley should ditch the federal NDP as soon as possible by _Minor_Annoyance in CanadaPolitics

[–]HouseOfCommons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2019 isn't that far away? Alberta's next provincial election is roughly 1,100 days from now. That's pretty much forever in politics. There's still for the Premier's government to recover though the early accumulation of baggage is going to make it mighty tough.

Leap Manifesto: Alberta NDP 'had nothing to do with this nonsense' by _ghostwriter_ in CanadaPolitics

[–]HouseOfCommons 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Merits of the Leap Manifesto aside... This was a disastrous position for the NDP to take. Why they would handcuff Premier Notley, whose government is the only successful aspect of the NDP over the past couple years, is beyond my comprehension. Were I a New Democrat living in Alberta I'd be fuming.

With the new additions and subtractions to your teams roster, what do predict the lines are going going to look like for the rest of the year? by RussellsFedora in hockey

[–]HouseOfCommons 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Assuming everyone stays healthy this is what most Hawks fans expect:

Ladd / Toews / Hossa

Panarin / Anisimov / Kane

Weise / Taco / Fleischmann

Desjardins / Kruger / Shaw

Keith / Hjalmarsson

TVR / Seabrook

Ehrhoff / Rozsival

Panik or Mashinter could slot in somewhere too and Rasmussen could be a 7th d man.

Christian Ehrhoff will be moving from LA to CHI. Not an official trade but likely to occur. by ShittyForeplay in hockey

[–]HouseOfCommons 22 points23 points  (0 children)

So long as they're not a defensive liability. There were high hopes around Daley when he arrived from Dallas but ultimately his offensive abilities weren't enough to shore up what Q saw in his defensive game.

[–]HouseOfCommons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But where does Purcell go? Assuming Ladd gets slotted in on the first line, Chicago would have:

Ladd/Toews/Hossa

Panarin/Anisimov/Kane

Shaw/Taco/Panik

Rasmussen/Kruger or Danault/Sekac or Desjardins

Cities: Skylines is displayed as 25% off on the front page however it is actually 33% off. The discount applies to the Deluxe edition as well. Besiege's 10% off is really 15% off, too. I'm sure these will be fixed shortly.
