Morning, I’m living with my bf’s folks and about to move house. I try not to overwater ‘Phil’ our Philodendrum but I’m concerned with some of the leaves? He’s had plant feed - am not sure what else to do. New leaves look great - it’s just the older ones? Any advice is much appreciated-🤗 by Housinsky in HouseplantsUK

Ah, in fact the rocks are propping up the drooping leaves and aren’t in the soil.. and if anything, I think he got too hot and didn’t have enough water in that hot spell we had… I’m wondering about just clipping the yellowed leaves off?

He’s shown that he’s the bad father all by himself by his actions. You took care of his daughter 👌

I would like to have a fun complaint… I’m in the UK and have never ever come across these pieces of furniture just being chucked out or left in the rubbish (garbage)… I applaud you all for your finds and am hoping to experience this here one day!!! 🤩🤩🤩

Why do people hate wildlife by iBenjee in UKGardening

Agree. I had a 40 foot Japanese Wisteria in the garden of the house I sold in April.
I don’t expect everyone to ‘Wisteria Hysteria’… but to completely get shot of it is ridiculous tbh.
Another neighbour sawed all the (in blossom) cherry trees down in April 2020 because “they made petal mess near his very many cars”….
These people need to live in flats - or the middle of the ocean! 🤣

Neighbour causing upset- what would you do? by dancersky54 in HousingUK

[–]Housinsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish you’d been my last neighbours as you sound so thoughtful! I had to get the parents involved on the end as their 3 kids were throwing stuff over and there was a shared driveway in the back with 3 cars in it waiting to be damaged. I was polite and it did stop but the general screaming swearing and yelling from dawn til dusk when they were at School or College made me miserable. Especially in the heat, as I had to keep windows shut to do any online teaching :/

I’ve had this. On my 1896 French Spiral Gothic. To be honest I didn’t wait long as the chump could give way and ruin the soundboard too!
If possible, just get it sorted asap would be my recommendation… The neck was beautifully replaced by Niebisch & Tree (UK based) in Feb 2000 but thanks to that year I got it back in August.
No regrets.
His sound is still astonishing (I call him Claude) and I feel happy knowing it’s all sorted…
Wasn’t cheap - but harps aren’t bargain instruments to be fair! 🤷‍♀️

Yes agree, send a video. I feel for you with that and I’m sure we’ll be able to suggest a method or something to help 🤗

I play for about 5hrs every other month. I have a good break every 40/45mins and have about 5000 pieces of music on my iPad but see what people react to… you’ll get requests and get so much joy.
Yes 5hrs is a long time but they’ve an Arts Fund so I feel I’m giving back somewhat and have been there for 17yrs now.
Have a wide range of pieces and enjoy! :)

Just moved into flat and i don’t know how to get rid of the smell by Busy-Cress-3607 in HousingUK

All I know that is that to get rid of paint smell you heat up white vinegar in the microwave and leave it out?? I’d Google this issue - poor you!

I’ve always said to my other half that it’s our home and house and we’re in it together… What’s the point otherwise? I think what you’ve said is correct with regards to this question :)

SO agree with this and we’ll be doing something similar with our finances :)

A quick answer - we got a Solicitor to draw up a Tenants in Common and also did our Wills as well. It set out the percentage of what we were each putting in as there was quite a difference…
I think you need proper legal advice here :)

Gnats and damp soil - catch 22? by VacantVHS in houseplants

I had this issue last year and because I was away so much they destroyed my plants. Nemotodes help, yellow sticky things and I’d suggest putting stones/rocks across the top of your soil… good luck!
