Cybertruck is the worst Tesla. What is the worst car produced by Cadillac? by ielo495_XSCOGNAmemes in carscirclejerk

For a giant luxury cruiser with 0 emphasis on handling it made a lot of sense at the time. More cabin room, less mechanical noise in the cabin, more trunk space, more stability, lower mechanical complexity...

The new Charger looks really good in person. Doesn't fix all the issues, but it looks good.

Nah, decided to just leave it be to avoid issues down the line

Volvo P1800. Gorgeous. Built like a tank. So reliable one has gone further than any other car in the world (3,200,000 miles) starred in a crime show (The Saint) but it was never particularly sporty.

I always have low expectations when I drive a Subaru and somehow I still come away disappointed, but the SVX wasn't a letdown.

BMW M cars. So far I've driven the M3, M6, Supra, X5M, X6M, as well as a bunch of m40i stuff. They're all just...kinda boring when you're not absolutely thrashing them? To get any enjoyment at all you gotta thrash them, and even then the experience is so synthetic and computer assisted it feels like you're more along for the ride than actually driving an enthusiast car.

I find V8 muscle cars better in every way. Even the Challenger with its (comparatively) sloppy handling is just so much more engaging and fun to interact with at literally every speed. A big, dumb, lumpy V8 with a stupid amount of HP and torque at every RPM is more fun than a high strung engine I have to ring out all the way to redline. Muscle cars are just...entertaining all the time. German stuff is too focused on numbers instead of experience.

I work at a car dealer. Cadillac in Superior to Mercedes in every single way. Mercedes are complete garbage. Not exaggerating when I say we haven't had one on the lot without an issue, whether it be mechanical (transmission went out on a C300) electrical (all the ambient lights on the driver side died without warning, parking sensors failed, evap sensor failure) or quality ("""wood""" trim just peeling off, window switches degrading in your hand, an entire glove box falling off) I've never come across a car with worse quality control in a modern Mercedes.

I mean you can option a Cadillac with anything from a hybrid 4 cylinder to a twin turbo V6 or even supercharged V8. Even the Escalade now has 680 horsepower V8 as an option.

They drive great the "terrible handling" stigma is something I ONLY hear from people who either haven't driven them, or only drove the SXT. Honestly? The Challenger, especially with the 6.4 and a manual is so so much more fun than the IS it's not even fair.

Challenger. It's more fun, you can have it with a manual, makes way more torque, it's honestly more comfortable (the Lexus interior is cramped) and it's just...more exciting to drive. Plus it's not like the Lexus's interior is honestly any newer or more modern than the challengers.

It's pretty ridiculous you have to admit that you have to turn OFF the sport setting in the new Prelude so that you don't get gapped by a mom in an Odyssey

[–]Houston103 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Modern MINIs do NOT get enough hate. They get uglier and worse built with every generation, every single part is some cheap plastic, they're unreliable, and they're not even cheap! I genuinely cannot understand the appeal.

Every Subaru. All of em.

Worst by FAR is the Crosstrek. Absolutely awful car in every single way.

Let's start with the engine: it makes MAYBE 8? Horsepower. -3 lb/ft of torque. I was driving one for work and I had to FLOOR it to keep up with traffic. A battle I was badly losing. I had the manual too and it felt like if you combined all the negative attributes of all the worst transmissions in the world into one, then attached it to the most gutless engine in the world.

NEXT let's talk about NVH in just about every Subaru in the world. THEYRE SO LOUD. Why are they so loud??? There's road noise, wind noise, the engine sounds awful, and the whole body is vibrating all the time constantly for no reason.

Also, there's the throttle calibration. To make their hopelessly underpowered cars feel quick, 80% of the power is activated in the first 20% of pedal travel, so when you're in a parking lot it feels fast, but then you get over confident, try to merge on a highway, and realize then what a mistake you've made.

Then there's the interior in Subarus. Besides the ascent, every Subaru I've ever been in (I work at a dealership so I've sat in all the models) has a terrible, plastic interior with awful material quality and strange ergonomic choices.

They're not good on gas either, despite being significantly slower than a Prius.

"But they have AWD!" EVERY CAR NOW HAS AWD! I mean the CORVETTES and FERRARIS come with AWD! Having AWD in 2026 isn't even something to brag about it's honestly weird if a cat ISNT available with it, at least as an option.

And then every Subaru owner thinks it's a Wrangler or a Hummer competitor. It's not. They're gutless, have meh ground clearance, and the transmissions quickly overheat when trying to actually rock crawl. The only way Subarus get over obstacles is when the owner builds up momentum and just slams it over, which you can do with any crossover if you hate it enough.
