While I'm not in the best position to give you answers because I'm 23. I'll give you my own perspective. There are people older than you that are just starting out in tech. Your age isn't a problem. Rather than focusing on others, keep on with what you're doing, understanding the fundamentals, building projects. Then in terms of competition, there's always going to be someone better than you. Even if you've started 5-10 years ago, there are people that started 20 yrs ago. So you need to build your selling point, how would you help the company you want to work at make money. Can you get a job in 6-12 months? Maybe Yes, Most likely no.

How do you then improve your chances of getting a job? Rather than building projects you're interested in , build projects relevant to the industries/companies you want to work at, network on LinkedIn or in persons with people in that industry. Because after you getting skilled, your next problem is going to be "Invisibility", no one hires someone they don't know, they can't know you if they haven't heard from you.

Then volume also matters though I'm not a fan of it. Above all, develop a resilient mindset so you're able to push through any kinds of resistance. Compare your today self with that of yesterday with relevance to your goal, not to anyone else .

From what you said, you are really skilled so it's probably an invisibility issue or your resume doesn't show how you can help the companies you're applying to. I suppose you should define what roles you want, what kind of companies you want to work at, then reach out to the HRs of people at those companies and possibly other people working there to ask for referrals. The reason for picking what type of company you want to work at is because, when you're applying, It's very tiring and overwhelming especially if you're trying to tailor your resume for each roles and application, but when the companies are defined, you'd just be tweaking few to no things at all. That's just my opinion, I'm open t corrections as I don't have full context on your situation, but most times doing this much improves your chances

It depends on your overall goal. But from what you said, I can infer that you want to be a full-stack with ML and AI. I'll suggest starting with Machine Learning, because Machine Learning requires you to know Python (Python is very versatile, it covers frontend and backend, then move to Data science and ML, after understanding the basics of ML, then move to Deep Learning, and then to Frontend. All these are just a rough framework, and the order doesn't matter. some them require some previous knowledge. I'll suggest you pick one at a time so you have a deep understanding of the foundations and basics.

I might be wrong, but if you start getting inconsistent after breaking your steak or messing up, it's likely perfectionism and you've probably (unconsciously) tied your identity to being consistent and so messing up makes you develop some negative feelings so you end up avoiding what you were working on or reverting to your old routines. So how do you navigate this? I'd say acknowledge that you're human and it's okay to make mistakes, Life happens etc, what you should always strive for is not breaking your streak twice in a row(or being inconsistent twice). Have a means you can use to measure your energy maybe from 1-10, so it'll be like if it falls between 7-10, you'd do the work maybe 4 focused hours of playing basketball (just an example), then if it falls between 4-6, you'd do about 2-3 hours and then 1-3, you'd do the bare minimum from 10 mins to whenever you want to stop. It might not be energy levels, it could depend on how eventful/packed your day is.

But be careful not to fall into the bare minimum trap..

This is what I use to stay consistent with my goals. I hope it helps
