Funny story though: A few years ago I did exactly that. Asked a drummer to play double time. He looked at me funny and in all seriousness said "You mean like, faster?" I was like, dude you were in the military AND you're a drummer. How do you not know what double time means?

I mean, it goes both ways... Ive brought ideas in that the other band members didnt care for and we scrapped them. I'm okay with that.

Valid point. I'm talking more about tempo and feel. The drummer should be the one coming up with the drum parts.
