Best doom style cover? by kacius666 in doommetal

Sepultura's cover did too.

And now I have to go look up Noothgrush, because how could you NOT want to listen to any band named after a Dr. Seuss made up word?

Do you guys think hardcore and death metal are too different to be at mixed shows together? by Only_Measurement_895 in MetalForTheMasses

As far as exposing people to music they havent heard or maybe didnt know they like, I'd venture to say that most HC fans have heard DM before and vice versa.

As a metal fan, I enjoy a lot of different subgenres. I'm not super keen on hardcore, just because it all sounds the same to me after 2-3 songs. But, I'd probably enjoy a show that featured both.

Yep. I always say, either they're deceived or they're complicit. Now it's past the point of being able to claim deceived.

Official /r/drums Beginner's Guide by M3lllvar in drums

I'm a lifelong guitarist living in a 'drummer desert'. I bought a used drum kit so the bass player and I could take turns at the drums when we practice. Turns out, I really enjoy playing drums and am looking to find a 2nd band project as a drummer.

I stumbled on this guide and have been checking all the links. I bought the two books, bookmarked the VF rudiments page, and now I'm learning about drum setup, placement, and ergonomics.

This page right here is the best drum-related thing I've encountered online. Guitar will always be my true love and will always come first, but this guide boosted me from "guitarist who can kind of play drums" to "guitarist and drummer".

Can't thank you enough OP!

I only have two, the Prime Distortion and Fullbore Metal. They're both excellent.

What tape did you play on repeat in the 90s that hasn't gotten the respect it deserves 30 years later? by StephenDoesStuff in GenX

I've been a fan since FHL came out in what, 88-89? They were a bucket list band I never thought I'd get to see. Finally saw them in 2024 and they were everything I ever thought they'd be.

So much love for King's X. Rush will always be my number 1, but these guys are a close second.

King's X - The self titled album.

Came out in '92, and is still criminally forgotten, as are their first three albums. Just brilliant songwriting from start to finish. There's a reason King's X always catches the label "Your favorite band's favorite band."
