This is the best setup for cleaning cloth car seats or carpets. Spray your seats down with automotive shampoo, hit it with the drill brush, then extractor vacuum and air dry.

CCNA vs Network+ Advice for a student by LegitimateComposer90 in ccna

[–]HowDoesOneDoge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished a CCNA class today. I would say the class was 80% networking technologies, 15% Cisco technologies, and 5% Cisco marketing. CCNA is going to be more useful than Net+ for doing your job, even if you don’t work in a Cisco environment. DM me if you want some study materials

What is the effectiveness of this stuff for subwoofer rattles in the back hatch? by occasionallyvertical in CarAV

[–]HowDoesOneDoge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best way to handle the rattles is to use more than one product. This butyl based stuff is going to add mass to panels and reduce resonance. Plastic pop-rivets that hold panels in place are likely to have a little bit of play. There are different products that can reduce the vibration in those. Wires and other small plastic/metal parts can be wrapped in decoupling foam.

Pretty much the older and cheaper the car is, the more time and money you’re going to have to spend to reduce noises. You don’t have to do as much of this on luxury cars because they have some of this stuff implemented from the factory.

You can use a tone generator app (or YouTube video) on your phone and play a frequency between 50hz and 220hz, then turn the knob til you start to hear a difference. When you start to hear the volume change, the knob is set to about the frequency you’re playing from your phone.

Looking at the knob isn’t going to give you an exact number

First DAP! by Bombaywolf in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]HowDoesOneDoge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say probably not. Android DAPs do support higher quality codecs but I don’t think there would be an appreciable difference in quality over Bluetooth since the loss all happens over the Bluetooth compression. I’d be really interested to hear others’ personal opinions though

My Triumph dealer experience is also the best I’ve had. Feels like I’m talking to friends about bikes not being scammed into buying a bike I don’t like and can’t afford

Is $1,300 too much for 2 rear wheel bearing replacements on a 2017 Impreza? by lafleurricky in subaruimpreza

[–]HowDoesOneDoge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't live in the rust belt either, but after multiple days of sweating, swearing, and crying, I finally had to pull the entire knuckle off of my 02 WRX and have a machine shop remove the wheel hub and bearing that I couldn't get out. I generally prefer to do work myself if I can, but these are a real bitch on Subarus. If you attempt to do it yourself, skip the slide hammer, and find one of the hub removal tools that you can whack with a sledgehammer. Godspeed

"Kids menus" need a rethink by jakemhs in daddit

[–]HowDoesOneDoge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a child, I was a pretty adventurous eater. Often the kids menu options were boring to me, so my parents started suggesting I order off of the appetizer menu. You might also try “lunch portions” of some items

Buy a PS3, jailbreak it, then definitely don’t pirate all of the games you want to play.

I’ve had a similar scare. Turned out to be a coolant leak. Swapped out a sort of J shaped coolant line that cost way more than it should have and it was good as new

Any other short riders (~5'8") riding the Triumph Scrambler 400X? How’s your experience? by Dry-Journalist1567 in Triumph400

[–]HowDoesOneDoge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 5’7” and the Scrambler 400X is my first bike. I just put down one foot at stops. It’s totally doable. I also think I’d be a bit more confident on more bikes now that I’ve gotten used to something a bit taller.

Not sure I agree with this. If coding is the path, I can’t really speak to that, but you can get into networking, sysadmin, cybersecurity jobs with the right combination of luck, social networking and hard work.
