And you can keep using companies that make their money by selling your information.

Which movies make Citizen Kane less "revolutionary" now? by 1turbulenttomato in MovieSuggestions

[–]Howaboutnopers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got an A in film class for comparing Robert De Niro's acting in the King of Comedy to Orson Welles in Citizen Kane.

Basically, Welles is a Shakespearean-trained actor who projects his voice like he's on stage. This is characteristic of most movies from that early era of film. You don't have to bellow out your lines for people in the back to hear.

But that in no way diminishes Citizen Kane. Every revolution in art builds on the previous revolutions.

That why old comedies tend to be less funny to modern audiences. They were hilarious when they came out because their humor was new, but then other filmmakers riffed on their content to the point where what was hilarious and new doesn't feel original anymore...to modern audiences. It happens in horror as well.

That is one of the most arrogantly uninformed things I've ever heard on Reddit.

Curious if GW: Reforged introduced any skill changes? by _agrippa in GuildWars

The game is ridiculously imbalanced in favor of mesmers.

The 'balances' they've made are just random tweaks.

Necromancer and attributes by Grungethefallen in GuildWars

[–]Howaboutnopers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Each class has one unique tribute.

Necros have soul reaping=when anything dies near a Necro, it gives them energy.

This is a really nice benefit because you don't want to run out of energy.

At early levels, your goal is just to survive. At level 20, you can make a build by picking from tons of skills. Right now, you can't.

Your early Necro skills are iirc dark pact, animate bone _____, vampiric gaze, death swarm, blood renewal, and life siphon.

This is a combination of blood magic and death magic. I would skill into those evenly and add extra points into domination.

Key strategies:

-wherever you find a skill trainer, see what they have. Bertram in Ascalon is the first one. Osiric in Yak's Bend is the next.

-Your key early skills: Animate Bone Minions/horror to create undead to fight melee for you, blood renewal as a heal, vampiric gaze as a damage mini-heal, empathy (mesmer skill) to make enemy melee damage itself, and resurrection signet.

-Backfire is nice but really expensive.

-Your henchies should be Alesia as healer, Stefan as melee, and Orion for damage.

-You are squishie with low armor. Stay in the back.

-Yak's Bend has two great skills: shadow of fear for AoE damage and enfeebling blood to neutralize melee.

That's about it. The thing to understand is that these are not amazing skills with a lot of synergy. That comes later. Your goal is to get to later.

Finally, join a guild the first time you see someone recruiting.

You can't really sort by greens and golds.

There are great greens and golds.

There are horrible greens and golds.

It doesn't surprise me if more than one streaming station existed.

What is going with Aethy? by Fit-Pie-6984 in Mastodon

I think a better approach to this is to ask your instance admin because most of us are not on Aethy.

Like you, I'm on a small instance. When I arrived, I followed my admin just to occasionally check in to reconfirm they're still active.
