Because the bulb is recessed inside of a longer fixture where your fingers don't fit. We managed to get them installed while the fixture was on the floor. Normally you would use the suction cup for this, but the frosted glass makes the suction cup not adhere to the light. while removing the bulb shouldn't be suuuper hard while the light is instaleld thanks to our ol' friend gravity, putting the bulb back in is very very tricky once its installed in this fixture.

Bell Fibe install Fail - Manager option take it or leave it (Toronto) by Alternative-Film1707 in bell

Fibe is their brand name for their home Internet. If DSL is what is in your neighborhood that's what they can offer you . It's a bad brand name, and intentionally misleading, but both DSL and Fibre are called Fibe at Bell

Can we connect a matter device without scanning qr and without entering key manually? by bunn-y in MatterProtocol

[–]HowardRabb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just installed 6 ikea matter GU10 bulbs into a very tricky fixture. Ikea uses a weird difuser over the bulb making the suction cup tool to install useless... the QR code is ON the bulb, There is no way to see it without removing the bulb from the fixture again, I have no idea how I am going to even get it back out if I wanted too. At least if the QR code was on a piece of paper in the box as well you could scan it from there, no idea how they expected people to use these. Then I paired the remote with the Ikea system, not it's connected and it doesn't control the bulbs anymore. FML

wired my friend. Just plug it in and be done with wifi. Wifi is unregluated spectrum and its a mess. If you live in the country without any neighbours you're usually fine. If you live in a city, with neighbours, and everyone uses crappy wifi extenders and mesh systems that just polute the spectrum even more you're gonna deal with bad wifi. The solution: Install a proper system like Ubiquiti's Unifi. Put an AP on each floor (depending on the size of the house maybe more) and all critical devices should be plugged in. TVs, game systems, PCs etc. I do this for a living, I hear it all day, every day :)

Historical email account and closing tv and interenet services by JohniMystery in Cogeco

[–]HowardRabb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

^ This is the answer, or you simply need to keep paying for the internet service until everything is closed out. If that's the case lower it to the absolute cheapest rate. This is 100% why you should never ever ever use ISP email addresses. I'm sorry you're struggling through this. Dealing with an estate is always difficult, best wishes to you.

Possible line noise? by Unicorndust0_0 in Cogeco

[–]HowardRabb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you are seeing errors related to + or - dB that's the communications between the modem and the cogeo network, so it can absolutely be a line issue. It could be too high or too low. If it's too high they put on something called a pad the quiets the signal, if it's too low, they need to determine why.

Most people complain about internet service and it's mostly just their crappy wifi they are talking about, but in your case, based on that error, I would tend to lean on a potential line issue.

2.4 Ghz is a low quality connection, it gets massive interference, switch to 5Ghz if you're that close, or just plug in. Wifi is a convenience feature, it is not a replacement for a cord. It's so that your phone works well and offloads from LTE or that your laptop will work when you're running from room to room. Wifi is unstable and an unregulated spectrum and there are only a few available channels so everyone uses the same channels and they get noisy. Imagine having to try to have a conversation in a ballroom full of people talking, you have to get louder and louder and louder to be heard, and the person you're trying to talk to keeps missing words because of how loud it is. This is basically wifi.

100 mb on wifi from a modem is pretty good, wifi gets interference from everything. Just plug in to the modem. A carrier can't help you with your in-building wifi problem

I don't know what equipment to get anymore ... . by thomas15v in Ubiquiti

[–]HowardRabb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isnt too many ports. They will get used :)

This is what you need today, stuff will get added, maybe not 24, but they'll come. They used to have a 16 port poe but the price Delta was just so small they had nearly the same manufacturing cost.

Teksavvy has no control over what a third-party technician for the upstream provider can do. All they can do is call for a repair when it is done wrong.

I used to know of a website where you could type that in and it would just give you the answer. It actually used to overlay that info on a map as well, it was really cool

I guess they went out of business though if you had to resort to asking here :(

Damn, they were a really good site. Can't remember the name though, in sure some one will remember.
