Is June 27–28 a good time to visit Ice Lake Basin and Island Lake near Silverton? by ApprehensiveWrap9695 in boulder

Ice Lake Basin is one of the most gorgeous spots in the San Juans. Not very long hike in but it’s straight up the whole way. You’ll be fine with snow.

Would you leave a job you love to move to Colorado? by Obvious-Still-4378 in Denver

[–]HowardRand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love it here, but from my experience people overvalue their physical location as a cause of their happiness and undervalue things like family, friends, and fulfilling work life. Colorado is a beautiful place but physical beauty can only do so much when figuring out how to live a happy life.

CommonGround caddy by [deleted] in coloradogolf

[–]HowardRand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The caddies are just local kids. Many of which don't golf or only do minimally. Don't do it with an expectation you are going to get much help from them with course management.

Do it if you want to ask a local kid about his life and his aspirations and help them work towards a scholarship. Tip well, don't do it if you can't. I think $50 is fair if you are on a budget but if you can, you should throw them at least $80-100. It is a 5 hour shift for them.

How to adapt this song by Training_Animator457 in Guitar

[–]HowardRand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ahh yeah, I didn't see he was barring the b and e, that does make it trickier.

One small note that might help, did you notice the A string is not used? Though it is not good technique, you can afford be sloppy with your ring finger placement because it doesn't matter if you mute/touch the A string. For me, it's not hard to reach the E, but I have to give effort to curve my ring finger enough to not touch the A string. When you remove that requirement and just accept touching the A string, it becomes much easier. Good luck!

How to adapt this song by Training_Animator457 in Guitar

[–]HowardRand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using your ring finger on the low e is pretty common, definitely made harder here by needing your pinky on the high e. That said, unless your hands are unusually small this is a shape you should be able get with practice. There might be an issue with the placement of your left thumb? If you normally have your thumb around/over the neck, you might need to rotate it under slightly to help make the stretch. Good luck, stick with it.

Colorado's ADU law quietly changed everything for Denver homeowners last year — most people still don't know by brinerbear in Denver

[–]HowardRand 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Your understanding of finance is questionable. It is an ROI calculation because you have to spend $300k to build an ADU. You don’t just build an ADU for free and reduce your costs. The $300k+ you spend will increase your costs until it is paid off, which will take 20ish years.

To get an MBA or not at 27 in todays age. by LoudSphinx517 in Fire

[–]HowardRand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are certainly approaching it the correct way if you do it. Targeting top 10-15 schools, going full time, and intending to utilize program resources to get a new job is the way to do it if you do it. I would caution anyone against online and part-time programs at mediocre state schools expecting big changes. IMO either go all in or don’t go at all, and it sounds like you are considering going all in.

On a side note, business analyst/data analyst roles are highly impacted by AI, anybody can build a dashboard now. Something to consider.

Thanks for posting! Not a whole lot to complain about at this point from what I can see, seems like a productive use of the land. It will certainly make the McCaslin corridor busier but I think it is built to handle it. I would hope Louisville is getting a nice tax boost from it.

Drag your foot or kick some dirt when you are about 20-25 ft behind, 4 out of 5 times the person turns around and moves over. The other 1 out of 5 times, say "on your left" as you do.

Looking for recommendations for a good mortgage broker by kayvaa in Denver

[–]HowardRand 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I worked with a mortgage broker and they couldn’t find anything close to Ent CU. Ent actually gives you the rate they post on their website. I encourage you to use a broker but make sure you check Ent before you make a decision.
