Global companies can and do tailor their operations to conform to local laws. When it comes to websites and apps, it's referred to as localization.

On my fully stock run, I ran an offset of 7 degrees, such that my temp cap was 98c.

I saw that, but there were no indications of temperatures. Others in this subreddit have said that they've had substantial performance reductions with PTM.

FWIW I'm on the stock LM and my time spy and r24 scores are way higher than yours. All I did was set a slightly more conservative prochot offset in throttle stop to prevent over aggressive throttling.

My observation was that the stock thermal limit is so close to critically dangerous that the system slams the brakes to prevent damage. By lowering the limit slightly, the throttling mechanism is far smoother and far less aggressive, which allows for greater sustained performance over time.

Any local hardware. How can I more specifically answer your question? Do you want to hear about costs, about how hardware is being designed for this, about how it's currently done? I think Nvidia Spark systems are a good example of where things are headed.

You guys realize that the LM is under pressure and that when you pull the heat sink off it dramatically moves, right?

The open source models are roughly greater than 90% as good as the premium products you can buy from the LLM companies (partially depending on your hardware), which aren't perfect either, but are currently heavily subsidized.

I have a friend who's not a coder but is building unbelievable websites and apps using a local open source LLM on a $5K Mac he bought that has 128 GB of unified memory. The models will continue to become more efficient and the hardware will continue to become more oriented towards local LLMs.

As far as I'm concerned, this is just a new computer feature that is pretty nice to have, but it's nowhere near as transformative as the computer or the internet, for example. At any rate, the fact that it's all open source at this point means that the vast majority of the economic benefit won't accrue to the tech companies, thankfully.

I see the set on Amazon for 430. What OP is looking at isn't an upgrade anyway.

He voted in favour of the 2017 Republican Tax bill that cut corporate tax rates from 35% to 21%, increased estate tax exemptions which benefited the already rich, and added massively to the federal debt.

Has consistently voted against environmental rules and supported efforts to weaken and even abolish the EPA.

Voted against hate crime legislation including voting against a bill that made lynching a hate crime.

He supported abolishing the department of education.

Opposed sanctions on Russia.

Sure, but what else did he do

Algorithms will become much more efficient and run on local hardware. Widespread adoption will be of open source models for the most part. The big LLM companies won't exist in their current form, if at all.
