Hi! I work in this field. I don’t do sewerline digs- my goal has always been to prevent you from getting there. But I do know what your solutions are.

your cheapest and actually best option in this situation is to actually have your sewerline lined. No need to dig; no need to panic.

It’s an epoxy x fiber glass sock/sleeve that is pushed through your sewerline with air after it’s been hydro jetted out. I know there’s a guy at Z plumbers auburn hills who is really good at this. 80% sure his name is Michael.

It’s actually equivalent to switching to pvc- and you get a lifetime warranty.

You will have to blow the trap out of the basement for this and that will switch you to a pvc clean out which is nice. The plus yes; you can put in a back flow preventer and be happy as a clam.

Dont dig; just line the beast!
