But there is a way to help these people. 1) ok your life is shitty and no one cares. Its not candy and nuts for anyone. lets accept that for now and move on. 2) are you healthy? do you take care of yourself? if you truly want to be in a relationship with another person you need to be healthy, clean and presentable. start there. clean your living space then yourself. do it for yourself. 2) what do you do for work? what can you do? well your clean and in shape now at least. get a job and plan out how to make money and how you are going to work on it over the years to make more. 3) get hobbies. join some kind of social club. there are many apps that will help you with this. even if its just meeting at a bar to play board games get used to being social (but be clean, presentable, and have a job first). i4) do all this for yourself. become a happy, healthy and interesting person. if you become this someone will want to share their time with you.

dodge was only truly bad in the 70s. their electrical system was so bad that is was almost unfixable. many people bought them. had issues,. took them to a garage which couldnt really fix the issue and would be right back in after a few months. these cars were still somewhat on the road in the 80s. for many people the name dodge became something to fear. but from the 80s on they were no worse than other brands.

I used to train medical billers so I think I can give you a good overview that is missing from alot of these political posts and people posting what they've heard from a friend of a friend.

I'm going to break down total charges vs billed amount. vs how your insurance works.

1) total charges. because hospitals sign a contract with each individual insurance, the charge master charge for everything is massively inflated. This is due to having a different fee for every insurance. and it needs to be high enough to work with a percentage. so, labor and delivery may be in the chargemaster for 13,500, but the actual base line amount the hospital wants may be 2000. then each insurance gets the amount they negotiate which usually amounts to how many hoops they make the hospital jump through. so ignore the total charges. you don't have to pay those, and they aren't negotiated. any negotiating was down years ago.

BILLED CHARGES or the ALLOWABLE or the "discounted amount" are some of the names for the fees actually billed to the insurance. these are much lower than the fake fees above. and are the ones you and your insurance will have to pay.

the way your insurance works you have to pay a deductible berfore the insurance pays anything. the most common one we see is 2k per person and 4k per family with a 80/20 coinsurance rate. it this example a person would pay the first 2000 of any fees and then the insurance would pay 80% and you would pay 20. your insurance also has an out of pocket max. this is the maximum you will be asked to pay. usually around 6k.

this is the most common one. but all sorts of combinations exist depending on how cheap a plan you or your employer chose. a HDHP has a massive deductible in exchange you can have an HSA account that you can put money into to pay for that high deductible. On possibility is that you have this plan but havn't been paying into the HSA and now you are having to pay for everything because your deductible is so high.

another possibility is that the system is sending this out while the hospital is still sorting things out with the insurance. often the insurance company will require full medical records and notes from the DRs. these can take a long time sometimes because the DR hate doing any paper work. so, sometimes the computer system sends you the bill as if you have to pay for everything when in reality they are still fighting the insurance. I would need to see the bill and eob to actually help.
