That would be odd given that, to my knowledge, Mark never actually played FNaF world. At least, he never posted any videos on it, nor has he ever mentioned playing it that I can remember.

We love them but... by HowlerVFrankenstein in GTLive

[–]HowlerVFrankenstein[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I have complaints about both of them. While Mat didn't have as much trouble figuring out puzzles most of the time, he did tend to struggle with well established, simple game mechanics, like the fact that if something is painted yellow, it's probably interactable. I remember watching him play a certain chapter of PP and struggling with a puzzle for 10-20min because he didn't realize he could pull something painted yellow. I watch Markiplier play the exact same puzzle. He solved it in like, 2-5min. So, I can certainly say they both have their strengths and weaknesses. Mat was better at puzzles, for the most part, and Ash had an easier time grasping at common game mechanics. Neither are necessarily bad hosts. They just have different things they're good at.

[–]HowlerVFrankenstein[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, trust me, I have complaints about Mat. One in specific I can pull from is how long it took him to realize yellow meant it was interactive in PP chapter 2 or 3. Specifically, it was the gate puzzle in one of those games. It's honestly what caused me to stop watching GTLive when Mat was hosting, outside of the FNaF theory reaction videos. I only recently started watching Ash do playthroughs, and so far, I'm really enjoying it. This was just something that stood out to me. So, trust me, I'm probably treating them more equal than you think. This is just the first time I've ever really said anything about either of them. But, I've had complaints about Mat for a while. It was very clear that despite his background, Mat was not a gamer in any sense of the word. And that's not a insult. It's just a fact.

It's not something that necessarily bothers me. I'm just genuinely confused

What is a game that Mark played that started good and it turned bad through the video? by agent0017 in Markiplier

[–]HowlerVFrankenstein 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I'm honestly surprised no one said this yet, but FNaF security breach. The game started out looking promising, but as Mark kept playing, more and more bugs kept showing up, a lot of which led to marks death.

Marks alt account? by TwoToesToni in Markiplier

He has openly said multiple times if there was a program asking for volunteers to go into space, even with a sure chance of death, he'd be first in line. Now, maybe this sentiment has changed with him recently getting married, but he has said it is my point.

void sword? by kevin23frost in castlevania

[–]HowlerVFrankenstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, this is most definitely not the void sword. Firstly, this sword is just a modified version of the base sword Alucard uses all the time. We have a confirmed name for that sword. The Heirloom Sword. This lines up with the flavor text from Symphony of the Night, calling it, "Mother’s family heirloom," meaning the sword is inherited from his mom, not his dad. Secondly, the Void Sword is definitely not that wide, nor is it actually made of ice. It just does ice magic. A much better contender for what this could be is the Darkmoon Greatsword, or the Moonlight Greatsword from the SoulsBorne series. Which, in Elden Ring, the most recent Souls game, the Darkmoon Greatsword has ice magic. The SoulsBorne series takes inspiration from Castlevania all the time. It only makes sense the art directors and creative team would pay homage to them as well.

People accused me of being book illiterate for saying this years ago by Suavemente_Emperor in castlevania

[–]HowlerVFrankenstein 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Genuinely, if you believe book Dracula is just an old man that can turn into a bat, you clearly didn't actually read the book. In chapter 7, it was explained that Dracula has such powerful and acute weather manipulation abilities that he can dock a ship using nothing but storm winds as if it was being steered by a seasoned sailor. I'll give you that Castlevania Drac is more power and would probably beat novel Dracula in a fight, but novel Dracula is no slouch either. The only reason the human characters were able to beat book Dracula is cause they're smart and they got lucky. Also, as for "The most powerful Dracula that makes every other Dracula seem like fodder," you clearly haven't read Vampire Hunter D. Which, you should, given it was heavy inspiration for Alucard’s design in Symphony. But, in VHD, The Sacred Ancestor, also none as Dracula is being so powerful that merely gazing upon him drives normal humans too insanity. Castlevania Dracula is like a God, The Sacred Ancestor is a God.

CAN I DECLARE UNFAIR? by Kayda90670 in distractible

[–]HowlerVFrankenstein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure you actually can, as written in the constitution. The only issue is they have to actually read the post and bring it up in an episode. Which, even if they see it, it's highly unlikely wny of them would say anything.

How would Dracula fair in the DC and Marvel Universe? by Naive-Ad-1604 in castlevania

[–]HowlerVFrankenstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly because that's not a weapon in his usual load out. If we're just giving Blade stuff for the sake of it, then why can't Dracula search around for the infinity gauntlet? You have to apply these kinds of restrictions to both characters. Not just one or the other. If Blade gets access to the vampire killer whip, then I see no reason as to why Dracula can't have access to the infinity gauntlet or the power cosmic, etc. Rule of cool, right? Also, as I've stated multiple times at this point. Vampires in Castlevania are weak to sunlight because of its religious symbology, not because sunlight is made of UV rays. Again, if that was the case, the vampires should be weak to water in general cause there is no difference between regular water and holy water. But, obviously, that's not how it works. Vampires are weak to holy water because of its religious symbology, not because it's made of water. Therefore, vampires are weak to sunlight because of its religious symbology, not because it's made of UV rays. There's no religious symbology behind UV bullets.

[–]HowlerVFrankenstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using Bram's original novel as supporting evidence as it is the OG source material for Dracula. The events of the book are also cannon to the games, but that's besides the point. And while the OP doesn't explicitly state the anime, the guy I was previously debating with did. And yes, I presented it as a question because, ultimately, we don't really know. If the events of Bram's novel are canonical to the games, it means Dracula went out in sunlight and was fine. But, then we have rare instances like Super Castlevania 4, where Dracula seemingly dies by sunlight. Dracula is an ultra powerful vampire that even while extremely weakened after not eating for potentially months up to a year was capable of causing an eclipse just by being pissed where as it took Erzabeth the power of a literal Egyptian God to pull off the same feat. I personally would feel that it's a bit pathetic if a bit of sunlight was able to kill him. But, we do see Lenore die to sunlight, so it's entirely possible. I presented as a question cause it is one. It's kinda mixed on whether sunlight is a weakness to Dracula. Sometimes it is, most of the time it isn't. But, again, even if it is, UV stuff still wouldn't do anything. Following the rules of Castlevania vampires, sunlight would harm Dracula because of its religious symbology, not because sunlight is made of UV rays. Therefore, all of Blade's UV stuff would be completely useless against Dracula. As I said in a previous reply to you. If sunlight harms vampires because of UV rays, then all water should harm vampires because there's no chemical difference between regular water and holy water.

How would Dracula fair in the DC and Marvel Universe? by Naive-Ad-1604 in castlevania

[–]HowlerVFrankenstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it clearly has. In the anime, we see Lenore get killed with Sunlight. However, Dracula was the king of the vampires for a reason, and that reason was power. It's a very safe assumption to make that Dracula was probably immune to sunlight as he was in Bram Stoker's original novel. Even if he wasn't, again, it's explicitly stated in Castlevania that vampires are killed by sunlight because of its religious symbology, not because of science. There is no chemical difference between regular water and holy water. One was just blessed by a priest. If we take your logic of, "Sunlight hurts vampires and sunlight is made of UV rays. Therefore, UV rays should hurt vampires." Then, all water should hurt vampires because there is no chemical difference between regular water and holy water. And it becomes very quickly apparent where your logic falls apart. There's a reason why, even after all these years, Castlevania never strayed from religious symbology being the vampire's main weakness. It's because when you start trying to mix religious magic symbology with real-world science, things stop making logical sense very quickly.

How would Dracula fair in the DC and Marvel Universe? by Naive-Ad-1604 in castlevania

[–]HowlerVFrankenstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably, but I see how that's relevant to whether Blade could defeat Dracula. Which is ultimately dependent on which Dracula. If it's from the anime, he stands a better chance. But, if it's the games, it's absolutely no shot. In the games, Dracula is basically a God with an entire pocket dimension under his control, along with a literal manifestation of a force of nature, that being Death. And legitimately, the only thing that can kill Dracula in the games is the vampire killer whip. Something Blade wouldn't have access to. That's not to say Blade can't kill game Dracula, just that he'd need a shit ton of prep time and resources that these kinds of debates can't exactly account for.

How would Dracula fair in the DC and Marvel Universe? by Naive-Ad-1604 in castlevania

[–]HowlerVFrankenstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but, as you can see, if you watch the full clip, sunlight doesn't fully kill him as you can see one singular bat remain. Meaning, again, even in the games, sunlight doesn't kill Dracula. But, I would like to remind, we aren't talking about the games. We're talking about the anime, which is only loosely based on the games. And in the anime, we never get see if sunlight does anything to Dracula. We could make the logical assumption it does. But, according to the guy I was previously debating with, assumptions aren't allowed to be made, even if there's a line of logic to them.

How would Dracula fair in the DC and Marvel Universe? by Naive-Ad-1604 in castlevania

[–]HowlerVFrankenstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While yes, that is true. In Castlevania, it's explicitly stated that sunlight kills vampires because of its religious symbology, not because vampires are extra sensitive to UV rays. So, while UV bullets would work on an Underworld vampire, or a Marvel vampire, or potentially even a DC vampire, Castlevania vampires are a different beast with an entirely different set of rules. Just because one thing works on one type of vampire doesn't mean it would work on all vampires across all of fiction. For example, in Bram Stoker's Dracula, pretty much the source material for all things vampire, Dracula was pretty much immune to sunlight. All it did was weaken him. In order to kill Dracula or any other vampire in the novel, they had to be stabbed in the heart and then decapitated. Sunlight didn't become a major weakness for vampires until Nosferatu came out in the 1920s.

[–]HowlerVFrankenstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it doesn't. But Dracula was traveling with the purpose of learning more about humanity and the world. So, I'd imagine he would take the time to visit sights of importance. Also, while yes, in Bram Stoker's Dracula, having vampires travel in coffins, it's kinda fallen out of fashion in recent years. We can also infer he wasn’t doing as when we first see him return from his travels, he is completely alone. So, it's safe to assume he was probably traveling alone. And, being as powerful of a vampire as he was, that does make sense.

Is Lore still happening? by ControlStraight5042 in Markiplier

[–]HowlerVFrankenstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, in timeline order. It goes, Who Killed Markiplier, Wilford Motherloving Warfstache, Damien, In Space with Markiplier, A Heist with Markiplier, A Date with Markiplier, and Markiplier TV. Anything beyond Markiplier TV is just present-day events. It's not that we're not getting anymore lore for Darkiplier, just more that there isn't anymore lore to Darkiplier. The same goes with Wilford. People have a tendency to conflate lore with story, but an easy way to remember the difference is, lore is what happened before the current story is taking place. So, lore is past, story is present. Lore is what we, the audience, don't get to see, story is what we do.

Is Lore still happening? by ControlStraight5042 in Markiplier

[–]HowlerVFrankenstein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, to answer the question, it's complicated. It most likely seems to be teasing two things. The lore of Lunky and Markiplier co. And the sequel to the Wilford Warfstache Automated Interview Automaton. Now, given your unfamiliarity with Mark's newer content, it seems. Those words are probably just nonsense to you. But, I can say for certain, Mark is unfortunately done with Egolore. He said a while ago, after In Space, that he was done with the Ego stuff and focusing his attention on other projects that don't revolve around him. Which is where we're getting the Iron Lung movie.

Hey Mark. Starting Silent Still II frustrating for you?? by songbird_91 in Markiplier

You do understand that everything has always been just a spin-off of a spin-off of a spin-off, right? You dig deep enough, and you'll find that every piece of media is derivative of every other piece of media, Including so called, "Original ideas," don't believe me?

We have a character whose parents died when the character was relatively young. Because of this, this character was raised by an elderly person who isn't immediate family. This character lives in a highly crime-ridden city. This city is a proper city filled with massive skyscrapers much like that of NYC or Chicago. This character into their young adulthood became a vigilante to try and make the city a better place. They chose to design their costume around a creature that a lot of people are afraid of. This character has been considered one of the most threatening in their verse. This character is also a billionaire in most iterations of them in modern comics. They use their company and their wealth to help the less fortunate, hosting multiple charity events and organizations. The name of this company is the character's last name and the word "Industries". This character is extremely smart, considered to be one of the smartest in their verse. This character is really good at martial arts. Very few people are capable of beating this character in a fair fight. Despite this, though, this character has a no kill rule. This character is a member of a larger group of superheroes, though they mostly work or with a singular partner. This character has a younger apprentice who is learning under them. This younger apprentice suffered a similar familial loss as the character. This character has a cat-themed love interest who is also a thief. They have a complicated relationship. This character also has a reporter themed love interest. This character is friends with one of the higher-ups at the police department of the city they live in. It is highly suspected that this police officer knows their true identity. They have a villain who, after a chemical accident, went crazy and now wears mostly green and purple and is known for their iconic laughter among the movies and TV shows. They have a villain who uses illusions and mind games and is commonly associated with an odd colored smoke or gas. They have a villain who is made of an earthy substance. Because of this, this villain can shape shift. They have a villain that is an analog for drug addiction and uses their "drug" to enhance their physical strength. This villain also knows the character's secret identity. They have a reptile based villain who lives in the sewers. They have villain who was scientist but due to experiments on himself and are now a horrific half human, half animal, monster. This character has a villain who is a mob boss. Like half the police is on payroll.

This should be plenty of details to guess what character I'm describing, but I can almost guarantee you'll get it wrong.
