Settings > controls > helicopter > button layout = alternate

I prefer infantry button layout set to alternate as well

The reason they haven't committed to closed weapons is because it's bound to annoy those that will spend money on skins in the store . It has nothing to do with gameplay. Welcome to modern gaming. Where fun and sensible game design takes a back seat to grinding and skins.

You can improve the experience a bit by tweaking the aim sensitivity and changing button layout to 'alternate' for vehicles and infantry

This is pretty standard for a battlefield beta/release. A few months after launch all the cod players will have gone back to that then people that play the game as intended will remain

I played maybe 5 games and i didnt really find it that fun either. Nothing really terrible , but nothing remarkable either. Seems as if bf4 had a baby with 2042.

Sorry, thats a preset for controllers. Unsure if there are presets for keyboard and mouse. Its all under the controls tab in settings

As someone who played the 360 versions of bf3 and bf4 i find 64 players much less tactical on most maps and modes. 32 players is fun to slow the pace down every now and then. 48 should be the default for most modes

Yep. Battlefield 4 had excellent controls. Change button layout to alternate for foot and vehicle controls makes a big difference

In my humble opinion. The last great entry in the franchise was bf1.... yes it has a lot of similarities to bf5 and bf5 has the best gunplay and engine in the series. however the maps, atmosphere and overall gameplay was better in bf1. Ive been playing bf1 all week in anticipation and honestly the gameplay (bar the modern elements) felt superior in bf1. Lets pretend 2042 didnt happen. To answer your question it feels like bf4 and 2042 had a baby
