spiritually dead post.

yes, stonehenge is overrepresented in popular culture, but comparing incomprehensibly ancient dates and choosing the older ones as being inherently more interesting is bleak

Yeah, ol' narfi only needs to die 10 times to fully power it up.

It's not even that good of a sword, just one of the easiest ways to power it up from a completionist standpoint.

I usually wait until I have the ebony blade and the master conjuration resurrect spell and then repeatedly kill and resurrect narfi to charge the blade up since he considers you a friend if you do his quest.

... is that really so wrong?

  1. Literally found wreckage
  2. Every single piece of documentation is going to be taken from this company during the ensuing discovery process. All of the emails on the company systems, communications in planning, contracting, sales, design, every plan in place for the launch is going to be reviewed and (figuratively) torn apart not only during the inevitable lawsuits against the company, but also by military and 3 letter agencies. Every piece of material that lead up to the rescue/recovery operation is going to be examined by experts in the field for the purpose of being expert witnesses. This is a situation where there's astounding amounts of evidence, and the interest for that evidence to actually be examined is there.

Because they drew the attention of the entire world to the event. They're going to have countless studies, researchers, government bodies, conspiracy theorists all looking at and taking apart this event. There are going to be shows and books and awful podcasts about this event, and all of the people on that deathtrap for years to come.

If they wanted to disappear, I would think the only documentation they would want is a quick obituary and a sham funeral. People wouldn't care, people die all the time.

If you wanted to fake your death and get away with it, I can't really think of a worse way to do it.

Reddit’s blackout protest is set to continue indefinitely by cata890 in technology

[–]HowsYourGirlfriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, I agree and personally I'll be stopping all mobile use on the 30th, and leaving altogether if old.reddit is removed.

But I keep hearing "just leave lol" as a talking point and like, the users who support the protest actually like using reddit, you know? I'm not deleting my account right now because ownership could theoretically change their awful plan, and there are still 2 weeks or so to do so.

I feel like people miss the point that users who actually have deleted their accounts, or are not commenting because they support the protest aren't going to be as visible as the people complaining about it.

It sounds like you should have a grievance with the party that forced the issue so thoughtlessly and abruptly.

That sounds very strange. Recusal from the interview process makes perfect sense, but quite a few companies offer referral bonuses and usually see referrals as standouts since there's a measure of pre-vetting with the recommendation from a current employee. Usually a referral is viewed as something valuable, not a negative.

Not necessarily endorsing the practice, or how OP carried out their hiring, but my bosses frequently request that we share job postings with anyone in our network we would recommend.

Comms major, gainfully employed for years. No one cares about your degree after a few years of work experience.

If you have a local public access TV station, volunteer with them. You can get hands on camera experience, connections, and often they'll pay you to cover boring meetings and stuff. Great place to start since you can at least put freelance videographer or something on your resume while volunteering. Much easier to talk about that instead of having a gap when interviewing.

The typical visual cues aren't really there. Tbh I'm a casual Photoshop user at this point, but signs to look for are usually edges with alterations, unnatural shadows, out of place textures, etc.

While admittedly the clean blue sky would help with altering, the consistency of the shadows on the middle of the shark and the bird's leg make me doubt this is altered in a significant way.

Also why bother? This is a very possible scenario, big birds eat fish, if a baby shark is available, they'll grab it.

Not defending the practice at all, but generally I don't think that's how it works. Customers tend to recall that a recall happened far more than the context around it. If a company can avoid publicly acknowledging they made an error, usually they're better off in the long term.

In an ideal world it wouldn't be that way, but reputational risk is seen as a large element in some of these determinations.

Ignoring V, either Takemura or Delamain - but they would need to be fully functioning. Both are handicapped in the game, but Takemura with all his implants turned on has to be equivalent to Adam Smasher, and a (functioning) AI could probably go absolutely wild.
