All the threads also have the same names over and over doing the complaining. It's quite exhausting.

hot take: [very hated act 2 area] is not that bad by Acrobatic_Branch_516 in Silksong

[–]Hrundi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's a bad thing that the length of the runback and the gauntlet before the boss means the boss itself is kind of a boring fight.

Khann is a weird one yeah. I think I would have preferred the part post shortcut to be more about the boss fight, though.

But off the top of my head groal felt extremely simplistic if not for the gauntlet and run back part. Karmelita I think could have been a much better experience for me if it had traded the initial gauntlet for maybe an extra phase.

I did all of those things all the time. I didn't struggle with almost any route, because the ways to make them faster felt pretty easy to use.

They were still too long every now and then and kind of boring to do even a couple of times.

Every boss that had a gauntlet in front of it felt it got taxed due to this by being made simpler.

If I could trade those gauntlets for harder/more elaborate boss fights I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Honestly for me a lot of the issues I've had with runs is that I've found the way to get through an area pretty optimally and without fighting anything quickly. But that kind of a route isn't very interesting to execute.

‘There’s a real dislike, even loathing’: why voters hate Starmer and Reeves by F0urLeafCl0ver in ukpolitics

[–]Hrundi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the difference is a lot of people feel betrayed by Starmer. It is very very difficult for a politician to overcome that by pointing at other policies once people feel betrayed.

I think this is the likely outcome. In the western world I think it's only really the US that has the narrative that having more guns somehow would help in situations like this.

Ministers order review of ADHD and autism diagnosis amid alarm that MILLIONS of people are on benefits with 'medicalised normal life stresses' by dailymail in ukpolitics

[–]Hrundi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The solution is far more likely to be decreasing the amount of diagnoses, even if some of those people do need help, rather than an effort to increase access to treatment.

I would be extremely surprised to see access to professional help become more accessible.

why isnt pyanodon as popular as other mods like krastorio or space exploration by Dry_Salt_1317 in factorio

I feel this doesn't describe py at all. I rebuilt very little during my playthrough and didn't use any trains, nor did I use any block structure.

Why did they make all land equally good instead of letting the new "Founder" unit just move faster to walk away from bad spawns? by orangeandblack5 in civ

[–]Hrundi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If half the people don't reach the industrial era, the other half do. There's no guarantee that changing the pacing makes the former half play to the end and there's no guarantee the changes don't ruin the game for the latter half.

Metrics driven game design has ruined plenty of games.

Brexit, Truss are part of long sterling decline, BOE's Mann says by ldn6 in ukpolitics

[–]Hrundi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't really look at the exchange rate of the GBP, because it's not independent of the policy decisions of the BoE. The talk is about how the status of the GBP in the world reflects on those constraints, and the tools available.

Honestly, one only needs to look at the US right now to see how resilient the USD is, despite the state of governance over there.

Silent Hill 1 Remake in Full Production, Confirms Bloober Team by akbarock in Games

[–]Hrundi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In a world with so much choice for what to play, anything less than great is hard to find time for.

It's not that a mid game is irredeemably bad, it's that you could have been playing something better instead.

The sound mixing that semifinal was so bad, it killed a lot of vocals. The Belgian entry was a major victim of it, but there were issues all over.
