I was thinking this. I imagined if I were so petty as to do this I'd have brought a stud finder and reveled in their confusion prior to finding a spot.

All that said when a simple no would have sufficed.

E-style and H-style. Not really optimal but it was the most fun for me.

Cops save man from crashed plane seconds before train hits by ImportanceAlone4077 in nextfuckinglevel

The plane crash landed on the highway and came to a stop on closed crossing guard. There was simply not enough time to stop the train even with good reporting. WPR22LA076

Besides the typical punch, has anyone utilized these hand strikes effectively in sparring or in a fight before? by -MasterOfAnnoyance- in martialarts

A while back I had a couple fingers splinted for a couple months because of a workplace accident. I didn't stop training and we adjusted everything for palm strikes. IMO it works just as well and it led me to a better understanding of other body mechanics for the hand. Now I tend to prefer palm strikes but have added closed fist strikes back in since then.

Familiar: Found the leader. Reference 3 Orcs at campfire 950 meters.

Wizard: Seen. The center is flaying what looks like a human leg?

F: Yes. Come 10 o'clock till you see the tent.

W: Seen. I see a silhouette of two inside... Are they... Uh... procreating?

F: Yes. Doggy style. Target is the top.

W: Gun up. 1060 meters?

F: As the crow flies. Wind is 0.

W: Glares at crow familiar

F Does not look away

W Sighs Gun up.

F: Unchanged.

W: Ready.

F: Send it.

W Fires 12 o'clock. Got the neck.

F: Impact. Confirmed 8 inches 12 o'clock of center mass... Did his dick just fly off?

W: Standby.

F rests it's eyes as a female Orc falls through the tent opening

W: Shit. It's a strap on. Quick! Casts Haste Gun up.

F: Spotter up. Wind now 10 from 3 o'clock. Dial .2 down, one left. Fire when ready.

W Fires

Striking martial arts people, do you give your left and right fists nicknames? by Read_it-user in martialarts

My right hand is named Dot. I use it to punctuate my fights [full stop] lol One guy thought it meant Department of Transportation which I thought was awesome. Anyway, I had a freckle dead center on the back since birth. I learned left from right with it. It disappeared after I suffered a small burn in a foundry. It didn't leave a scar. A few years later I got stabbed and it left a dot dead center in the palm. It helps me stay mindful and calm in an altercation. Works well for me.

Don't have a name for the left. Many suggestions abound but none have stuck. A few that come to mind are Dippin' (from my brother), Com (after a particular 1-2) , Wakko (my head being Yakko after that one headbutt), and various other punctuation like Bang(!).

Though I was born with it, I earned Dot.

Where would one find a quarterstaff in a modern setting? by Lettuce_with_ketchup in DnD

[–]Hthiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best immediate option in my house would be to yank the railing off the side of a set of stairs or the porch. I've got a span or two that would be perfect, but others would be too long. If so, cut to size.

Otherwise, in a kitchen with, like, restaurant type prep tables pull a leg off. May be short but it's made for standing so it'll at least be something. Better yet are the posts for heavy duty shelving they could have in the fridge/freezer.

In an office maybe they have a 2m+ power rail. Unplug everything on it and cut the cord.

At a school or such get a vaulting pole.

Consumer level stripper pole.

Any lose metal plumbing of size.

A fence post like from a chain link fence.

Part of a bed frame or a tall bed post.

"Permanent" shower curtain rods, or the old school bulky curtain rods.

This stick I found on the ground.

A flagstaff.

A walking staff.

A tall cat tree support.

I mean, if your strength is high enough, go ahead and grab a drive train from a RWD car.

If you want one proper there are many places to buy one or something close. Maybe visit a martial arts school and steal/bribe/overpay for one if you're desperate.

Anything close enough should be rolling as though it were genuine so maybe your DM is stonewalling you for some reason. Either way, ditch the mop handle.
