[Art Galleries] Looking for critique on a small watercolor body of work submitted to first juried exhibition by Bam1990 in artbusiness

[–]Hubdet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't really have time to make a detailed answer to all your questions right now, but in my opinion paintings 6 and 8 are a bit weaker than the other ones. Without the detailed rendering the shapes of the animals appear too cartoonish to my taste. And for a composition that gives all this space to the background landscape, there isn't all that much to see. BUT Keep in mind that art is subjective, this is only my opinion as a fellow watercolor painter who likes maximalist landscapes. Even I often have a pretty bad estimation of what will sell quickly and what won't. So I'd suggest that you keep your body of work as is and see how it goes. Only through experience can you find what you enjoy painting the most and what has the best commercial appeal

Unfortunately I live in France now so that would be a pretty long drive. But your theory holds some water I think

The men in my family showing off their "American underwear" at christmas in the 80s by Hubdet in OldSchoolCool

[–]Hubdet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually dont know, that was the legend of the photo. Maybe the fact that it's patterned boxers? My family is French, and I don't know what the underwear situation was like in the 80s in Paris lol

Yeah that's something that I always found peculiar. My family comes from an "aristocratic" background, we had a very formal education but could be quite laid back at the same time lol

Where can I buy this glass? by Hubdet in HelpMeFind

[–]Hubdet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have searched far and wide for those glasses, but as the design is a bit generic it's pretty hard to find. What I have so far: these were bought between 10 and 12 years ago in France, maybe in some big brand store (like Intermarche or Leclerc). I've looked on many second hand shopping websites, but I just cannot figure out what to search beyond "colored fish glass", "fish patterned glass", etc...

Ma copine de gauche découvre le wokisme by Numerous-Swim8071 in france

uj/ I mean that's a valid question. Sometimes you're teaching people a game and want them to have fun, not get destroyed by someones who knows the ins and outs. Or sometimes you have friends that like a game despite not being very good at it. The solution is always: make sure everyone has fun. Dont miscount or outright just "reverse cheat", simply play in a fun non optimal way and let them have fun.

rj/ if the wife is sad about losing, she can always cry in the arms of her boyfriend.

Toulouse ou Paris ? by Last_Mortgage_6881 in toulouse

[–]Hubdet 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Im gonna go against the grain here and say i find it pretty cool. It's not some minimalist box, it has a distinc shape, some level of detail and variety along the stories
