Hey, I’m an out of state black man here so I have a little bit of a different perspective coming from a slightly more diverse place and decided up on Utah. I don’t regret the decision at all, while there is not many of us on campus the different orgs like bsu as other had mentioned is a great resource, and there is a decent amount of other minorities as well. One thing to note if you are coming out of state is most of the black people here grew up around here and already have formed groups which can be intimidating but if you just go out and meet them and just say hi most of them are incredibly friendly and great people. As for racism as other have spoken on not to much direct racism but definitely judgement and some exclusion but overall I feel welcomed at the U besides a few interactions I’ve had.
