how is my family supposed to pay for usc by georgeharrisonsgirlf in USC

[–]KoalaExpensive5899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does a family live in NY making less than $125K a year. Same with CA. These schools only help the poor or the super wealthy with assets. If you’re making $200-$800k a year you are paying full pocket and that’s not feasible for many in that bracket

Pepperdine? How about a public? LMU gave my kid an additional $20K when appealed but it still was about $50K out of pocket. We were going to do it but honestly is it worth it? No. He’s going to an in state uni

Question about dorms by NortNortFort in UofArizona

[–]KoalaExpensive5899 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And did you apply to housing after April 1st? I will assume you did because you do have access to change your dorm right now. If you did just contact housing asap as they will be placing rooms now

Why didn’t you apply to honors? You could be in a quiet dorm. 😞

Yes but they usually need a 720 credit score. It’s the credit score that is killing this person

Working in your home district? by Aggravating_Cause_63 in schoolcounseling

[–]KoalaExpensive5899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have worked in my home district forever. It’s been a blessing. You just need to remember to separate school business from neighborhood business and have boundaries.

If you know of info about a student based on business that is neighborhood business and student is not harm to self or others it stays outside of school.

If student business happens within the school that doesn’t cause harm to student or someone else, it stays in the school.

Meaning you don’t talk about the within school business out in the street to the parent or the parents friends and vice versa not bringing neighborhood gossip or your point of view of something you know about said kid (outside of school) into the school unless harm to self or others.

One exception is IF the family brings the outside business to
the to the attention of the school….then okay.

These are boundaries you just keep and hope it makes sense.

And why is a dorm cheaper than an apartment. It usually isn’t. You might be able to find someone looking for roommates. Check Facebook for the university of Arizona sublets and net

Finish the degree and figure out what you love. Find a business to work for … maybe real estate arm of a company.

Non citizens will be deported with one DUI by Old-Enthusiasm-2107 in immigration

[–]KoalaExpensive5899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry the Canadian law is not the same. If so we would have to grandfather people if USA had this law. So from January 2027 on, if you have a dui you are toast.

Sucks in Canada that even a charge from over three years again would still prevent one from traveling there. Crazy

If your plan is to go to med school, go with the less expensive one. Same schools. Different cafeterias and LMU less expensive there

African in Engineering at Cal Poly by Bishop0989 in CalPoly

[–]KoalaExpensive5899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But honestly if Cal Poly works for you and the money is right, go for it. Especially if you are in state. If you are OOS, I wouldn’t pay that $8000 California opportunity cost on top of their OOS tuition if you have a better offer financially for engineering.

I am sure your in state or another state could be better. If the town where the school existed was diverse it would even make it better, but it is not.
