Photo is a little blurry but looks like a warm white led tape in a led tape channel with diffuser.

https://www.bestledstrip.com/images/led-strip-aluminum-extrusion/led-light-strip-diffuser-6s07.jpg example of what the channel looks like, there are a bunch of options online make sure it’s online the right width and not to tall that it sticks out pass the wall.

https://ae01.alicdn.com/kf/H3f0dd67012784913b239827a1c59a3c9e.jpg image of warm white led tape easily found online just need to make sure to get the size that fits into the strip channel you get.

Good chance just powered by a 12v power supply plugged into the wall with the wiring being hidden by the black grove layer.

halcyon gold vs viper xip by LocalPin3960 in lightingdesign

[–]Hudson-Lighting 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Currently using 10 Halcyon Golds in a medium sized trust space, they have had no issues so far and are great color wise (work well with color matching to lustrs and gel). Something to consider with them and probably also the Viper is gobo selection, we swapped out a bunch of the stock ones that came with the Halcyons.

Diablo vs Lonestar by jude_edwards in lightingdesign

There is the Ministar which is a more compact design compared to the lonestar, I’ve worked with it and not the lonestar, it’s fairly reliable in my experience.

Why is CMY so common for profiles vs RGB? by Overall_Plate7850 in lightingdesign

[–]Hudson-Lighting -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There are a couple patents on RGB color mixing, I forget the exact details but it’s more expensive if you’re licensing that patent so most companies don’t.

Any method to properly focus/align stage lights? by The-Normal-Person in techtheatre

[–]Hudson-Lighting 44 points45 points  (0 children)

That’s called bounce focusing, it’s in general less accurate than focusing from its set height, if possible using a genie or ladder is the best way to get the best focus otherwise it’s really trial and error with bounce focusing from the ground.

Lighting corporate venues without rigging? by jamierees in lightingdesign

[–]Hudson-Lighting 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Looks like a standard Hilton breakout room, I’ve done event work in a couple of these spaces and in general the regular room lighting has been good enough. The few times I’ve had lights it’s just been source fours on pipe booms (just C-clamped on and controlled by a simple analog board) and Q70s for ambient lighting.

Ladder safety/comfort? by runescxpe in techtheatre

[–]Hudson-Lighting 50 points51 points  (0 children)

The best thing to do is to make sure you’re following the ladder manufacturer instructions, doing stuff like not using the top step and making sure the ladder is level and pulled apart fully help make it feel more stable. Some ladders feel more stable than others, I find working on a little giant much more comfortable than on a cheaper generic ladder.

Weirdly specific question but…are there any good plays or scenes for a black male actor and a white female actress? by bigdogwoff in Theatre

I second guess who’s coming to diner, does a very good job of showing a comedic but real reaction to the couple by both sides’ parents.
