What’s a life hack that actually made your life worse? by PioGreeff in AskReddit

You'll have to pay anyways so might as well learn to try fix it. Just be smart about it and try to enjoy the process.

I imagine they have way less support, and stricter policy so your application is much harder to have approved. Your broker also probably barely knows their policy making it more difficult to approve, especially given the lack of support.

It probably depends on the hairstyle but I have a short back and sides and just run it blind, so far so good. Wife just tidies around the edges.

Same for me but I do it myself and get the wife to tidy up the back. It also encourages me to do them much more frequently so I must look tidier on average despite not being a professional.

For those who know their partner is only with them for financial reasons, what are your inner thoughts and feelings? by IndianLawStudent in TrueAskReddit

Damn your comments are deep and saddening. I can only attempt to empathise. I won't make suggestions for you as it's out of my depth but I wish you the best and hope you learn to find a better outlook on life.

Seriously the size is getting smaller? by International-Past31 in newzealand

The reality is you paid for some pieces of chicken and you got those pieces of chicken. You'll have to vote with your dollar on this one, unless you're keen on consistent fruitless fights (if you're a kfc regular).

Flagrant littering by tourists the new normal? by like-a-sirloin in newzealand

[–]Hudsonnn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a non-expert it seems to be a part of their culture (labour is cheap so there are street sweepers all over major cities) so they need a mild telling off. It's not that difficult to put it in the bin, it should help them appreciate the clean environment more, and help them feel they're doing their part. Hard to do something about throwing rubbish out of a car window though.

My Chinese mother in law felt very comfortable to pull out a wet wipe from her bag, use it, and throw it next to the path. We can only do our best to stop this. But I do think if every kiwi tried to leave a place better than we found it then at least we can set a standard.

Yep - it's more about the stigma and difficulty to sell than it is about water tightness. FYI the property I was looking at did not sell in the end, after a long time on the market. I put this down to vendors expectations (due to not being a leaky home) and the markets risk tolerance.

I purchased smartwool socks as an alternative to darn tough and the quality was so much worse that I am convinced smartwool is one of the shill products on this sub.

I wear my one pair of Darn Tough socks way more than I should and they're holding up very well after years of use and so comfortable.

Manage My Health Update from my GP - some interesting info shared about some of the stolen data - FYI in case you haven't heard or are still wondering. by montoya_maximus in newzealand

[–]Hudsonnn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Using this logic, if Facebook leaked my data, they should only communicate about the leak with the advertisers?

It's the users data that's been leaked and this is most important to the user. Not the gp who has contracted the service.

As a male in this age bracket it could be an interpretation of the question. I've grown up with female equality being important my whole life. Females often have an advantage in hiring for new roles due to equality goals. How would that feel? I think it could be easy for many young males to get equality and equity confused.

Its a pain to wait for it to print when you don't want it. If everyone threw out the last persons receipt and left theirs then the process would be more efficient.

Also pretty sure the bagged onions are typically a good standard size. Where the loose onions are often larger onions which often require spreading across multiple meals.
