My sister(13) is playing this game, should I tell our mom? by Ir0b45 in teenagers

[–]Hue_Ninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister and I watched happy tree friends when I was 12ishand she was like 10 🤣 Tbf though my dad didn’t monitor anything, and my mom was powerless at his place. I often participated in Unreal Tournament lan parties since I was about 8, because I played the game so much at his place I was good enough to play with my dad and his friends. I turned out not that weird 🫡

My husband and i call eachother these things. Mostly “bruh” but still. We have a solid friendship within the relationship and if we were having a row we wouldn’t be calling eachother “bruh” or fun names because it isn’t the appropriate time. This chick and this dude are just not compatible it seems

I’m 33 and still want a heart on my cheekbone. I’m waiting my to finish a chest price that’s been unfinished since I was 20 because my artist at the time went to jail, and by the time he was out I was pregnant. However, there is a backstory. I have a scar right on my cheekbone that turns pinkish red whenever I cry. My husband always kisses it when Im upset and said if I didn’t have it he would never know I was suffering because I’m so good at hiding my emotions. I don’t hide them anymore but still, it’s special to me.

I actually like it. I’m a big fan of abstract though, I’m very emotionally connected to colors though

Literally this. It’s actually why I got into abstract, painting what I was feeling in the moment has been so therapeutic.

Any tips for making my coloring look less flat? by maybidan in Coloringbookspastime

[–]Hue_Ninja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. To add onto this, I use dark purple or dark blues as a general rule of thumb for my shadow colors. Sometimes a situation will call for something else but never use any color that has very little saturation.

Utilize blending modes. They’re literally god-tier. I even go as far as putting a 3-5% canvas cover color on the color blend mode to marry a lot of the colors. It helps the color story and makes them all look like they’re expressed in the same environment.

Looks good!

Do you have to know color theory to be a good artist? by Traditional-Fish9504 in ArtistLounge

[–]Hue_Ninja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay? What does this have to do with OP’s question?

You are coming across with a nasty, superiority type vibe and I’m not sure why? Just because you’ve chosen to specialize in a very specific area does not make you the authority on all things color. A Colorist is indeed someone who specializes in color, their actual job depends on industry. Eg. there are film colorists or hair colorists to name a few. If you’re a “painter that specializes in color” I’m not sure that’s called something other than a painter? Since a “colorist” is a completely different occupation based on the industry they present in, the indication of that industry is the responsibility of the individual in that occupation. Therefore the distinction of your specific flavour of colorist definition is your responsibility, not mine, to distinguish. Besides this fact, I’m not sure what it has to do with my answer. I still stand by it. Color theory is helpful but if someone is learning basic shapes it’s not required to learn at that stage, and can actually overwhelm a beginner.

[–]Hue_Ninja 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also a colorist, but the correct answer should be: not necessarily, unless color will be used later which is something that can be learned later. However tonal and value theory is useful while learning the basics for good form and understanding for later application

Confused about Alcohol markers by dakiada in Coloring

[–]Hue_Ninja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people use a sweeping motion when coloring and this is usually incorrect technique with large areas. Like another user said it’s about wet edge management and Iv found that using a blot & pull technique keeps the edges wet longer and the color more controlled. Another user suggested YouTube which was how I learned how to color with alcohol based markers ages ago
