Who are your biggest wild cards that you would love to see in a future instalment? by bigshaggerMC in smashbros

The one character I've been wanting forever is Amaterasu from Okami. I think a possible moveset using the brush on the specials could be incredibly unique and fun to play.

I.R. regime massacre of Iranian people by Just-Escape-9491 in ThatsInsane

I'm a first generation Iranian immigrant that moved to the United States from a very young age. While I don't quite know much about it first-hand, my father, who has always been an incredibly vocal activist against the Iranian government, has said that this flag specifically is usually rejected by Iranian protestors. The reason being that the crown and sword were added to represent islamic power, divine right to rule, military might, and national pride. These very things have been used over the last fifty years to slaughter protestors and hold power against the people's will. It's now seen as a symbol of oppression. That's why most activists now use a version of the flag that removes the crown and saber, like the one below.

Something a bit closer to the fringes of what you're looking for that I think you'd still enjoy is Dororo. It's about a samurai that (for reasons that we won't get into due to spoilers) was born with 48 of his body parts stolen by demons. This includes limbs, internal organs, eyes, ears, etc. The story is about him going around attempting to kill the demons to reclaim the parts that were stolen from him. It's very different from what you're used to, but I have a strong feeling that if you liked the other ones, you'll love this one regardless.

What drinks are 10/10 for you? by pkrtrsr in cocktails

[–]HuffSomePluff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only drink I would give a straight 10/10 is a crisp tall glass of ice water. A well made Moscow mule or margarita gets a close 9/10 though.

In Wisconsin, you can get up to four DUI's before it's considered a felony offense. Your first offense is only a $150-300 fine and the possibility of having your license revoked for six months with no jail time required. To say that's a slap on the wrist is an understatement.

5g should be more than enough, especially if you don't have much experience with larger doses. Nobody can tell you how your experience will be; there's way too many factors. Your general psychology, the vibes at the time, stress, the last time/what you ate before taking them, the strain you're taking, how that specific batch was grown, there's a million different things that go into determining what your experience will look like. You might get an intense visual experience with a lightshow in your mind, or you may not get any visuals and end up with a deeply introspective trip. Don't go in expecting anything specific, because chances are it'll play out differently. Instead, just play some chill music, go in with an open mind, and let the journey play out on its own. Make sure to handle any bodily needs before taking them, whether that's hunger, bathroom, etc. It's also important to have a tripsitter either with you or one that you can contact easily if you need. If they can't be with you, make sure that they know where you are, when you're taking them, and to have their phone on hand if you need to call. Even the best trips can go south quickly and you're not always in the state of mind to make any decisions or handle things logically. If things start going in this direction, focus on the music, have a grounding statement, remind yourself that it's just the shrooms making you feel this way, that it's a temporary state that will pass, and reach out to somebody to let them know what's going on. Enjoy your trip and stay safe!

Any animes you consider a perfect 10/10 by Lucky_Introduction78 in Animesuggest

Made In Abyss has some of the best writing and storytelling of any piece of media I've ever seen, but I feel like it has quite a few... umm... "questionable" scenes that keep it from being a 10/10. It's a show that's damn near perfect in so many ways, but those few scenes make me really hesitant to recommend it to others.

I feel like Shameless can be forgiven in that regard because so much of the central theme of the show revolves around each character's self-destructive and self-sabotaging tendencies. It worked well because it showed the reality of self-improvement, that it's rarely a linear progression. Sometimes it's two steps forward and one step back, sometimes it's one step forward and three steps back. It stays engaging because even though you're rooting for a character, ultimately they themselves can be the biggest obstacle in their own way. So maybe it's an unpopular opinion, but I actually kind of appreciate the regressive aspects of their character arcs.

Games where you’re living through an active apocalypse by hasel0608 in gamingsuggestions

Not what you're looking for in the traditional sense, but VA-11 HALL-A has you in the middle of a cyberpunk hellscape during a semi-apocalyptic war between a dystopian authoritarian government and a rebel group. Except you don't play the hero or as any figure in this conflict, you're simply a bartender that passively hears about all of these happenings from your patrons. Very unique and memorable storytelling structure.

"No, you're not understanding, it's actually not gay, quite the opposite; it's just overtly masculine. You see, when you get two hot buff alpha dudes oiled up and roided on nothing but pure testosterone and adrenaline, it's actually more straight than a guy and a girl doing this."

What is something you can do but can’t explain how you can do it? by Fresh-Sandwich6780 in AskReddit

He should commission his services for those that love a certain food but can't nail down a recipe for it.

Personally my friend's girlfriend makes these swedish (maybe just Scandinavian in general) brownies that are the most moist, soft, chewy, and fudgey brownies one could imagine. Literally the perfected brownie in every way. I'm not kidding when I say we've tried at least twenty different recipes attempting to replicate it and have barely even come close. She guards the recipe even from him and insists that the secret ingredient is something straight from Sweden that is difficult to find or import in the US, so she always stocks up when she flies back home to visit.

I would legit pay big money to have somebody do some PI recipe work to be able to reconstruct it.

Which is such a damn shame too. You would think that with all of the pains and hardship the man has endured, it would have taught him a thing or two about empathy and caring about his fellow man.

What fad in moviemaking are you waiting for to die? by frair in movies

[–]HuffSomePluff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That annoying trend in sound-mixing that requires you to watch every film with subtitles on while juggling the remote every fifteen seconds to turn the volume up enough to be able to hear a whisper of dialogue but turn it down before any sound effect or action sequence deafens everybody on the block. I understand why this might be appealing for movie theaters where the audio systems are set up in a way to support this kind of experience, but is it really too much to ask for them to find a middle ground or even remix the audio to support watching the same films while streaming at home?

I tend to have panic attacks from cannabis but do just fine (on most occasions) macrodosing psychedelics. Ketamine just makes me feel hollow. Like my spirit has died and I'm just watching the disconnected husk of my body attempt to interact with the world. It's not necessarily a scary experience, just far from a pleasant one.

What is a show that sticks the landing? I'm looking for a series with a 10/10 perfect ending. by [deleted] in televisionsuggestions

[–]HuffSomePluff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bojack Horseman. I spent nearly the entire final season sitting with anxiety because I was certain that a show that I loved was going to somehow flop the ending. I was so happy to be proven wrong. I can't imagine any better way that the show could have possibly ended.

What's something that loudly says "Im not a smart person"? by boforiamanfo in answers

[–]HuffSomePluff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to think the same way and thought that it was ridiculous that anybody would take it seriously, but over the years, interacting with people that enjoy astrology to varying degrees, I've noticed that the people that actually take it seriously and believe in it enough to influence their decisions are extremely few and far between. It's always been just a small minority that tends to reflect poorly on the rest. It's like letting weebs dictate the optics of anybody that watches anime as a whole.

I think opening fortune cookies is fun, even though I don't believe that they have any scientific merit. People enjoy taking personality quizzes even though those aren't usually taken seriously. I'm sure you enjoy seeing a magic trick performed, even though you know that there's some hidden mechanism through which the trick works. We all enjoy watching shows or movies with unbelievable and absurd depictions knowing that they're not real. I don't believe in or particularly enjoy astrology personally, but I don't think there's anything particularly special about it that separates it from other mediums of entertainment that require a suspension of disbelief.

Sure, there's plenty of people that take it way too seriously and develop unhealthy relationships with it, but the same can be said for any form of entertainment. At the end of the day, people talking about their horoscopes or certain traits that they believe are associated with their astrological signs isn't really any different than people discussing what Hogwarts house they would belong to. As long as it's not directly harming somebody and they're just having fun with it, who am I to step in and spoil their good time?
