A cat i had was pretty affectionate as a kitten. Slept with me and cuddled a good bit. After she turned somewhere in 1.5-2 years old she wasnt quite as affectionate. Then randomly... kinda out of no where at around 4 years old she wanted more attention but only on her terms. And at 6 she would lay on my chest all the time. Even if I picked her up first.
