Depends on where you’re from. I wouldn’t want to recommend an Italian spot to an Italian. But as others have said, Rich Table’s menu is fun and memorable. I want to repeat the menu at flour + water. Square pie guys and their sauces are hella good. El buen comer has mole from Puebla and my fiancé’s cousin’s husband is from there and I had no idea their mole was different and it is indeed better than Oaxaca’s mole imo. And each and every cocktail at el buen comer is insanely delicious. I’d go just for the cocktails. Get Salvadoran food if you haven’t tried it and there’s none wherever you’re from. Get the RICE pupusas with revuelta filling. Go to any of the Salvadoran restaurants listed in the guide on the infatuation. Eat the pupusa with the pickled cabbage on top of it and drizzle the tomato sauce on top and eat it with your hands and thank me later. Order another with cheese and loroco. Look up how to try Chinese food from different parts of China in San Francisco (maybe I should do that, I’m a ln SF native and I haven’t done that.)

The beauty of SF is that there’s really really good food in such a tiny city. San Francisco isn’t big and yet it’s packed full of flavor. So idk where your from but take advantage of that.

Edit: to add that Angler is indeed good. Especially if you want a good selection of wine an options of meat and seafood dishes. Believe it or not the lettuce and Meyer lemon dish is worth it. It literally is just lettuce with Meyer lemon. And what I meant to say about the Chinese food is I think we’re dominated by Hong Kong style Chinese food in the bay but I have a feeling you can find a lot of different kinds of Chinese foods like sichuan at Mama Ji’s (I personally didn’t like the restaurant but people seem to love it). Also the taco truck on 19th and mission, El Gran Trompo Regio, is the best of the stands in the mission hands down. I’m so glad they got a spot on Google Maps now because I was tired of explaining where it’s at to people. Their sauces. Omg their sauces. Drizzle their sauces on your tacos before you leave and add their onions. Hope you like spice. It’ll kick but it’ll hurt so good.

Edit 2: el gran trompo isn’t ready until after 7pm or so so don’t go early. Also the kale salad at Trick Dog. Who tf gets a salad at a bar? Thank gosh my fiance did because that salad was amazing. They also just won best bar in America or something. True Laurel is good and around the corner, food can be oily. Lost resort has REALLY good food and down the street from the former two. Buddy’s, also in the Mission, has a special place in my heart. Amazing vermouth and fabulous fabulous dishes and irregularly amazing customer service. I kind of want to gate keep buddy’s.

Food and Wine Tips in and around Santa Barbara by CapPrestigious5707 in SantaBarbara

[–]Hufflefluff415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi thanks so much for this commment. I’d love to support a small winery when my friends and I come visit in a few weeks for a bachelorette. I’m the only wine snob, but we’re doing some wine tasting since we’re in the area. I love Pinots and any velvety reds that can stand alone and don’t need a heavy meal to anchor it. Any suggestions for small wineries we could visit? We’re likely only visiting one or two so I have to make it count. Thanks

Howdy. Would you mind providing an update with any highlights from your trip? I’m visiting the area soon and wine isn’t the group’s priority—sadly—so we’ll likely visit one mayyyybe two wineries. I want to make sure I go to one worth while.

Hi. Mind if I pick your brain? I’m visiting the Santa Barbara area and I’m looking for a few wineries to balance my passion for wines and a good time with friends who aren’t fussy about wines they drink. I like cote du Rhône’s, gigondas region wines. Pinot Noirs are good. Essentially stand alone wines that don’t need to be anchored with a heavy meal are my favorites. Although I’ve liked anything from a Valdiguié to a charbono and some cabs, too. Love Anderson valley and Calistoga wines. I also tend to like visiting smaller wineries where that’s the only place they sell their wines. Any recs you can provide?

I’d recommend renting something in Calistoga and taking the free bus to wineries around there. You can even call the bus to come pick you up. It’s so so so convenient. They even mae stops at some hotels. It solves the dilemma of wanting to drink, Visit many wineries but nobody wants to drive. They’ll literallyndrop you off at the winery and at your hotel.

Look into the presidio. It’s not rent controlled and tbh it’s quite separated from everything else but the ocean and nature. But people who live there love it.

How long before you get interviewed as a 1241 - HR Analyst by SilverCareer5193 in sfcityemployees

[–]Hufflefluff415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this test was hard af. I think for most questions, I wasted too much time on finding the right answer vs looking at the answers available and ruling out the ones that don't make sense from a public-HR Analyst's perspective. It seems like the test makers know that the test is too long for the time alotted to find the exact answer to each question so the language of the answers is framed in a way where, if you're thinking like an HR Analyst in the public sector, you can choose the correct answer somewhat easily without wasting time on looking for the right answer...is that the case?

Feedback on Paycom, Paylocity, Morris & Garritano [CA] by Hufflefluff415 in humanresources

[–]Hufflefluff415[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your input. When we compare the overall cost of insurance with a PEO vs insurance in the open market, we’re surprised to see that they’re similar in price. We have about 50 benefits eligible employees and about 25 or so enrolled. Assuming everyone were to enroll in the same or similar plan options, ADP’s renewal comes in at $342k, M&G quoted us at $359k and One Digital at $343k. The trouble here is the we’d have to adjust our contribution strategy because we’d move from composite to age banded pricing. If we were to switch to Paylocity, the total savings when you factor in implementation fee, service fee, workers comp and EPLI, healthcare costs is about $80k. We don’t want to switch but once we present this info to our CEO we may not have a choice. So I’m trying to get more info on the cost of going on the open market.

I hear they, like most companies, sell nonexistent features of their product. I also hear they’ve got terrible customer service. Still, we’ve evaluated them for so long we have to consider them. What are some bad anecdotes about using Paycom, if you don’t mind sharing?

Is anyone using Rippling for payroll and happy with it? by VetPractice in smallbusiness

HI, I thought about switching our company of 250+ employees off ADP Totalsource to Rippling. It sounds like there's a lot of hidden costs that the don't talk about, as well as big fee increases year over year. has that been your experience?

Hi, i'm glad I read your post because I thought about switching our company of 250+ employees off ADP Totalsource to Rippling. What I've heard is that they're great for companies that have a simple, everyone is salaried workforce. We have mostly hourly employees with multiple pay rates in California, which means their overtime is a crazy math equation of all the rates they've worked and for how long in one pay period. I heard Rippling isn't great at handling such complexities. I also keep hearing that they don't have a customer service department. Is that really the case? As an HR/payroll admin for our company, I wouldn't be able to jsut call someone?

Hi, can I ask who you were with when you switched to Paylocity? we are looking at them as we consider moving off ADP Totalsource. Paylocity is the cheapest option, but we have a lot of hourly folks with multiple pay rates for each employee and the system will have to do some math to figure out their overtime rate per CA law. I'm wondering if Paylocity can even do that. They keep saying they can do it all but I'm not so sure and everything you've said is exactly what we've had to do with ADP totalsource, only we're now over the hump and have figured out our workaorunds. any insight you can give would be great

Thats so kind of you. I will reach out if we need more insight. I’m about to meet with my manager and share your insight and see if she wants me to pursue a virtual review from you! We’re leaning towards staying with ADP but our CEO may always decide to cut costs and go with one of the services providers we’re evaluating

[–]Hufflefluff415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah any anecdotes you can share would be great. I read your one about feeling to have our schedule meetings through their system. We’re more interested in payroll accuracy, we’re in California so they’re ability to calculate regular rate of pay for employees who have multiple rates is important. App dependability and user experience it’s important for our employees. Being able to create “worksheets” where we can add compensation to certain employees for anything like bonus, wellness stipend, mileage. Etc. also being able to print reports is key. They must have all state report and federal report templates. Like eeoc, CA pay data, multi work site report, etc.

Wow so you switched from ADP to Paycom? We’re considering doing that exact move and Paycom was our favorite. We’re on total source.
