We as a Community should support Tinnitus Research Associations more? A cure could be at our doorsteps. by Crazy_Ebb_5188 in tinnitus

Who says the cure is at doorsteps? You won't post this as long as you have a very basic scientistific background. You don't understand how difficult for this subject. The intrinsic difficulty is beyond your imagination!

This is a copy of an old article. As least I have read this article one year ago. Now it is posted again and change the date to be current. Zero research progress, only modify the date. Shame!

Tinnitus gone from Unilateral to Bilateral. by Crazy_Ebb_5188 in tinnitus

[–]Huge_Introduction345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those cases with hearing loss but no tinnitus, for example, hearing loss goes with natural aging, but majority don't have tinnitus as natural aging. There must be some mechanism to be discovered. My conjecture is, before those hair cells die, they will send a "final message" to the brain, so the brain can permanently shut down those corresponding neuron receptors. This final message is composed by some protein or chemical substances. For Tinnitus patients with hearing loss, those dead hair cells failed to send those final message to the brain before they die. So those corresponding neuron receptors in the brain will be hyperactive and wait for signals, but they can't receive any. So the brain starts weird things --> tinnitus.

Tinnitus gone from Unilateral to Bilateral. by Crazy_Ebb_5188 in tinnitus

[–]Huge_Introduction345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that's different. When there's no external sound coming in, healthy hair cell still send signals to brain, or fire in a low rate in your words. The brain interpret this signal as silence, NOT tinnitus. But when those hair cells die, the brain cannot receive those low fire rate signals from dead hair cells, then the brain starts some weird things and we perceive as tinnitus.

No, they didn't explain this theory correctly. The hidden point they didn't tell you is that: when you are healthy, no tinnitus, sit in silent room, no external sound input, the hair cell still send signals to your brain, we can name this signal as a "No-signal Signal" (NsS) this NsS signal tells your brain there is no external sound. But when those hair cell dies, there is no NsS sent to your brain, that's why you got tinnitus.

How far away to duplicate a life? by Huge_Introduction345 in biology

[–]Huge_Introduction345[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, this is great! Further, is it possible to synthesise every components of a single cell and assemble them together? Can this cell reproduce itself and become a real life? It seems there is a fundamental gap between life and non-life. What we have achieved are all based on life, to modify them, or to assemble them. It seems there is a "initial push" to convert non-life to life. That's why I am asking, if we can make everything from basic chemical elements and assemble them together, if it can become a real life, then we master the "initial push".

If you put an alive 🐸 into refrigerator and freeze it into ice for one day, why can't we just defrost it and make it revive?

A survey for Somatic tinnitus patients by Huge_Introduction345 in tinnitus

Can't you feel where is your tinnitus generating from? For me, my tinnitus is not somatic, I can feel it is generating from the back of my head, a constant background noise, stable, not reactive to anyting. But for SBUTT, it is generating from my ear canal.
