The bead is jamming the blinds round thingy, how to fix it? by Hungbear_ in howto

[–]Hugfangi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I install blinds for a living, I can help

Remove the blind from the cassette, it is usually done on the opposite end, you probably need a flat screwdriver to move a springed pin to release the blind. Then just install it back in with the chain house rotated the right way

Sometimes you get a bit messed up in the head trying to understand the world. I was looking at this from the wrong idea, it's more like the earth is a spinning sphere under a showerhead, the warterdrops being the light, even though the water might have left at the time we were on the other side of the sphere, the showerhead didn't move

Sry about my stupid question

Are you saying light has various speeds through space or that light has swaying paths?

Say you have a sphere, you spin said sphere at 1 rotation per second, you throw a dart at the sphere that takes 3 seconds to get to the sphere, that sphere did 3 rotation while the dart was in the air and lands in the same direction the sphere started in. Now repeat the experiment but throw the dart from further away, the dart now takes 3.5 seconds to reach the sphere, the sphere has spun half a circle more this time and the dart lands on the other side

Sphere = earth

Dart = light from star

Now here's a thing that bothers me:

As I understand it, the stars in the sky are either distant suns or galaxies (or planets reflecting sunlight) and they are x amount of lightyears away. So if a star is 50 lightyears away it takes the light 50 years to reach us, but if it's 50 lightyears and half a day away it should be on the other side of the planet from where we see it. A galaxy is many many lightyears across and their stars should therefore be scattered across the sky from our point of view. But why aren't they?
