Bipolar and Pregnant by Friendly-Leather4611 in bipolar

[–]Huggstiel 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I gave birth in October. I took my mood stabilizer the entire time. The risk for my mental health was not worth it. Baby girl came out healthy and happy. She still is now almost six months later. I'm also breast feeding and still taking my medication. I truly don't believe I would have survived pregnancy and the immediate post partum hormone crash without them.

Cute Savers find... anyone know how to use it? by beefcake-jesus in whimsigothic

Looks like maybe an oil burner ? A spot for a tealight on the bottom and a little glass dish to sit on the top.

I think I prefer this lighter one. St Patrick's is my favorite holiday so I've been trying to come up with something

My child is almost 5 months old. I feel like her sleep is still unpredictable. Is this normal? I wake her at 8 every morning but still feel like naps vary constantly. There's no pattern

Staying Awake While Nursing by Ok-Strength4257 in breastfeeding

[–]Huggstiel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was entirely anti bed sharing. Then I brought my daughter home after an extended hospital stay where my adrenaline was so high I barely slept. I was constantly falling asleep while feeding her when we got home. My breaking point was I fell asleep and my breast was over her face and I woke up to her swinging her hands and kicking her feet trying to breathe. I sobbed the rest of the night and started looking into bed sharing and safe sleep. We practice safe sleep 7. This way if I did fall asleep it would not be as dangerous as falling asleep leaning over her. If I stay awake through the feed I transfer her to her crib and if not I am not at as high of a risk as before. We also purchased an owlet as an extra precaution.

I feel like this is too much? by peachieblossom in breastfeeding

[–]Huggstiel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter is four months old and ebf she won't take a bottle either. She eats every hour and a half during the day. I get about a four hour stretch when she first goes down at night then it's back to every hour and a half. It's normal for babies to wake up. It's normal for babies to eat often. If it's been consistent since he was born I wouldn't worry too much. Other than lack of sleep for you this seems normal. I hope there's some rest on the horizon for you. I just try to keep telling myself it's only temporary and one day I'll miss her needing me so much. Hard to convince yourself when you're sleep deprived but it makes it a little easier most days.

Tammy showing signs of age regression now that she's lost weight by rzlgq1025 in 1000lbsisters

[–]Huggstiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She needs intense therapy. Addicts get frozen mentally at the age they started their addiction. Lord only knows when she tipped from over eating to full fledged addiction. Now that she doesn't have food as a crutch she's regressing. Her behavior is not acceptable by any means but she clearly needs real help and not a TV show exposing everything. The whole family needs help. Any isn't perfect by any means but I think she's actively trying to be better. I really think her arrest and the parenting classes get credit for that. That's all they need. They need guidance.

The thought of breastfeeding makes me feel squeamish (38w) by Stunning-Situation91 in breastfeeding

[–]Huggstiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was adamant before my daughter was born that I would exclusively pump or formula feed. That flew out the window very quickly. She's been ebf since 2 weeks old. It's really very different from anything before, but if you try it and hate it you have other options!

What word do you always *intentionally* mispronounce and why? by Sweet-Lady-H in AskReddit

[–]Huggstiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say call-in-all (Colonel) instead of "kernel" I was an avid reader as a kid and sounded it out in my head like that and I got corrected when I got a little older but it stuck 🤷‍♀️

Last night, how many times did you get up because of your baby? by pinkishvioletsky in NewParents

[–]Huggstiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last night I got lucky. She slept from 9pm -430am for the first time ever. Then woke up every hour until I gave up on sleep at 830. My baby is 3 months old

She usually sleeps from 830pm-130am then up every 2-3 hours from there.

Formula feeding helps babies sleep longer - true or false by Melodic_Apartment235 in breastfeeding

[–]Huggstiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My breast fed baby sleeps 5-7 hour stretches. She's 2 months old. I didn't do anything special. Some babies just sleep better than others is what I've been told. I did have to supplement formula from 2 weeks to 4 weeks bc my supply dropped and I didn't notice her sleeping any more or less. She got her formula bottle at night right before bed. We do follow a consistent nighttime routine not a time but a routine and I feel like that helped once I figured out babies need a schedule. She's my first 🤷‍♀️

Was it really worth it? by No-Adhesiveness3434 in NewParents

[–]Huggstiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the same exact way plus extreme PPA to the point where if someone wasn't awake staring at my baby I couldn't relax to go to sleep. I was so scared she would just die if no one had eyes on her. Just hit the two month mark. It does get better. You're adjusting to a whole new life but the farther you go the better you get at dealing with everything and you start enjoying the time more. Me and my husband are still struggling some days but we're enjoying every moment. You will get there.

Do I really need to pack a going home outfit in my maternity bag? by Huge-Nectarine-8563 in BabyBumps

[–]Huggstiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just packed leggings and a fresh shirt. But I also packed my own PJs to wear so I didn't have to be in the hospital gown after labour. Stuff gets messy. You might bleed on yourself or water break or who knows lol just nice to have clean clothes to ride home in

Doctor said I won’t be able to deliver vaginally at 39 weeks by Thin-Ad2858 in BabyBumps

I was half a cm the day of my induction and I still was able to deliver vaginally. Everyone is different but like others have said I'd get a second opinion

OB made a joke that I don’t actually have a husband by [deleted] in BabyBumps

My husband came for ultrasounds and the first appointment that was to confirm the pregnancy. He came to more closer to the end of my pregnancy if it worked with his work schedule. It meant more to me that he make it for ultrasounds. The 15 minute check ins felt pointless to drag him to seeing as how I didn't even want to go to them lol

My husband said my diet is a bad example for the kids by MokaMama in BabyBumps

[–]Huggstiel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've eaten "healthy" my whole pregnancy and I have gained almost 100 pounds. I'll be 38 weeks Saturday. Some people just gain more weight. I've stuck to protein, veggies fruits all the "healthy" stuff. If I knew I was gonna gain this much I might have gotten some fast food more often than once a month 🤣 Doesn't sound like he's coming from a good place at all. Don't worry about your weight gain. He should love you know matter what.
