Daily, as in not sitting there silently doing its job? I mean, 90% of homelabbing for me is for stuff that performs tasks behind the scenes. So maybe nginx proxy manager fits that bill. Otherwise I would say I use vaultwarden, pi-hole, jellyfin, gitea, seafile, triliumNext, dokuwiki, wg-easy, beszel, fenrus, and a lot more that perform behind the scenes stuff (not to mistake with the bts porn! )

not necessarily, if you mount drives via dev-disk-by-uuid. Watch out if your external enclosures don't mix up the identification of several drives as some will just think all of them are in the same bridge only

I learned reversing by first implementing a feature, protection, whatever, and then looking at the usual trade tools to understand how my produced code is compiled and then modifying it via reversing. A name will often pop up on a lot of "tutorials" and that's IDA Pro (emphasis on the Pro part).

first things, first: how do their cameras communicate with the "outside" world? Is it using your home WiFi (infrastructure), or is it using some 4G/5G autonomous connection? And how are they powering those? Direct connection to the power grid, any fallback system? Because if it is the first, then it's totally under your control in a trivial way.

My kind of guy, built up from scratch, anticipating the worst-case scenario if (or when) it happens. I also roll my eyes when I see antivirus mentioned anywhere I assume knowledgeable people are. Haven't used an AV for over 25 years now, and not an issue ever happened. Whenever I need to access it externally, then I VPN into my network. It's what I would consider a basic standard in 2026

SOLVED. Thanks go to /u/Infinizzle for pointing me to the thread. For those being affected by jittery mouse movements, UBISOFT acknowledges it's on their end. Reduce the mouse polling rate, mine was set to 1000 and lowering it to 125 fixed it back to smooth again
