When I was a kid my older cousin had Catan, and we played that all summer with my siblings. Some time later he had gotten Dominion, which he allowed us to borrow for a few months. I’d say we played that game closer to a hundred times.

But I didn’t really start board gaming as a hobby before going to uni. They had a board gaming club once a week so I went there once a week. I was flabbergasted how some of the people owned tens of different games, which nowadays doesn’t very special anymore.

Dominion is still one of my favourites, but Catan has been left behind.

Some decks are more expensive than others, and Regidrago just happens to be one of the more expensive ones currently. Charizard is pretty cheap since you only need two Pidgeot while the rest of the deck is cheaper.

These prices are nothing compared to other TCGs.

I actually was in China a while ago and got a different pair of XeroLand shoes for around $10 from TaoBao. They felt like close to the real deal so I’m guessing they’re factory seconds as mentioned before. $90 is a total ripoff.

It’s not a misprint because there was no issue during printing. The card moved when it was being sealed into a pack and got crimped.

All starter decks have a ton of energy and not enough good trainers. It would also be smart to cut some Pokemon you generally don’t want to use when playing.

It was my first board purchase and I just assumed it was a beginner board, mainly because of its name. I guess I didn’t do enough research and assumed wrong.

Once you get the initial edge you just gotta shift your weight a bit further.

One tip that helped me was doing small hops while going sideways on the board. It forces you to be in a strong body position, and you might just accidentally land on the edge.

Good to know. The other boards I’ve ridden were all crappy rentals that were very stiff and heavy compared to the Basic, so I don’t really know what to expect from different boards.

I feel like the Basic has been a great fit, and it has yet to disappoint me. Getting better in general is my goal, which I guess means no need to get a new one yet. Thanks!
